So happy they’re fully vegan again 🌱

Happy to update this! It looks like Piante has gone back to being fully vegan again! Based on their current menu and recent updates, everything is now plant-based. This was such a relief, especially after how disappointing it was to see meat added after so many years as a fully vegan spot.

Cute and inviting

We had read the reviews and decided to go and check it out. They are far from the only previously-only vegan places who needed to add some non-vegan options just to stay in business. We each ordered a salad and both were huge and delicious and healthy. We split a (huge) pizza (all vegan) and it may have been the best vegan pizza we've ever had. The cheesecake was more of a custard in a cup, which we have been seeing more and more lately.

Pros: Large portions, Salad options, Amazing pizza

Cons: Nothing

seedy business, not worth it

i've been going here for years, even back when they were in denver. decided to take my parents down to breckenridge and show them a place i once loved to eat. i have taken several long trips because i enjoyed the pizza very much
unfortunately, when we sat down we were immediately asked if we wanted dairy cheese. i asked her "so this isn't a vegan restaurant anymore" and she said "it is vegan, it's all vegan, we're just accommodating for people" i apologized and told her i wasn't about this. she then further explained that "it's all vegan except for the three options" which was dairy cheese, and 2 meat options. i repeated "so it isn't a vegan restaurant then," and i told her i will not be returning. she was nice and i didn't want to take it out on her but i felt flabbergasted at the use of the word "accomodation" to people who don't have to think twice about what and where they eat. it felt like a slap in the face. it's not accomodation, it's pandering.
i honestly felt like the workers are being told to guilt trip customers about how they would be shut down otherwise (she repeated twice that they'd be shut down if they didn't do this, no one in my party believed that) and how people would come eating alone without friends or family. she said they've gotten a lot of backlash from the vegan community, which, to me, feels fair.
absolutely no disrepsect to the kind waitress doing her job, i was not aggressive with her and i appreciated her service, but i wanted to be clear and concise: if there is meat and dairy being sold then it's not a vegan restaurant.

piante meants plants in italian, their logo is akin to a carrot, they tell their customers that it's all "still vegan" when there is murder in the kitchen. i don't support cosplaying ethics and they sold their souls to devil. this is decietful. they're calling themselves plant-based in their instagram bio. not only do i not want to support nonvegan business, i do not wish to support this sneaky business model of trying to appease to customers who have all the choices in the world while trying to pretend it's "all vegan". i do not support this place and i will not be returning, not only because they serve meat, which is disgraceful, but because they're still pretending to be a vegan restaurant & possibly attempting to guilt and/or trick their customers. years ago they said they would return to denver and they never did. now i hope they don't

Pros: the crust is fantastic, stone oven pizza is great, san marzano tomatoes!!

Cons: sold their soul to the devil, is no longer vegan but decietful about it, seedy business practices

Still really good, not fully vegan still

Like others have mentioned, they now serve cheese and meat. The meat is not listed on the menu however, we had to ask to find out that they have real sausage and pepperoni. Cheese is listed. My husband was happy and I was happy and the pizza is still fantastic, I dunno, I’m not too bothered by them adding meat and cheese. When like 98% of the places I eat serve meat and cheese I’m just glad there is still a place like Piante offering exciting and creative vegan options. The jalapeño poppers were excellent and so was the pizza!!

A "vegan" restaurant with meat

I love this place. It's been a go-to that we've supported for years, and we always make a point to stop in when we're passing Breckenridge.

I'm truly disappointed to see that they now serve meat and dairy, despite calling themselves a vegan restaurant. Truly heartbreaking to see them turn their backs on plant-based values and ethics.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a theme with "vegan" restaurants in Colorado lately. I guess they bend to the whines of the flesh eaters and cow breast milk dinkers instead of standing up for the exploited whom they once claimed to exist for. Sad and disgraceful.

Now serves flesh and dairy

Absolutely heartbroken, the restaurant model is not what it used to be and serving flesh and dairy to stay in business to me is just screaming hypocrisy when baby cows and AV cards are on display

Staff told me it’s all vegan

Idk what the deal is with all these reviews from the last 6 months that say they added dairy and meat options. I asked them today and they said it’s all vegan.

It’s not. The owner has decided to start offering dairy cheese to anyone who asks. You can verify this offering by going to the website and ordering online. You will be given the option to choose dairy cheese.

There’s so many options! Even snacks! The cashew ricotta is excellent, but the chart topper for me was the Oreo peanut butter cheesecake! SO GOOD! Even my Omni husband loved it!

Worth every mile

5 STARS! (HappyCow they’re fully vegan) Went two days in a row & would be back weekly if we lived in Breck, but I’ve come back to visit the last 3 years. The El Jefe is a perfect pie. Our servers were kind and friendly, and attentive without overdoing it. And they’re on the ball keeping customers hydrated. 10/10 would eat here again.

Pros: Service is always phenomenal. , Everything I’ve eaten is delicious. , Antipasti is my favorite menu item

WAS Best restaurant in all of Colorado, but NO MORE

No longer vegan, can't reccomend... Sad world...

The following was my 5 star review when the place was still 100% plant based:

This place always nails it. I've never had a bad experience. This is the only restaurant that I actually look forward to going to in Colorado. It is sad that Colorado does not have very many good vegan restaurants, but I am very grateful for Piante Pizzeria restaurant.

Staff is wonderful. Options are great and the food is always cooked to perfection.

Salads are always great as well if you do not want something cooked. Everything I've ever had here has been delicious and I've never been dissatisfied with a single menu item.

I have pretty much had everything on the menu here (minus the mushroom items) and would recommend them to anyone.

NOT 100% VEGAN ANYMORE VERY DISAPPOINTING!

We actually loved to travel from Denver to Breckenridge just to go to Piante pizzeria because there were one of the best plant based pizzas in Colorado. Unfortunately, they started adding animal products, which is very very disappointing!! I don’t understand why they went back to contribute with the animal abuse happening in animal agriculture! Personally, I will not be eating there anymore!

They do offer animal cheese alternativr when you get in there but the menu is all vegan. My non vegan family all went with the proper vegan versions and loved them. Should be allowed 5 stars as I nearly missed it on the app as not showing up in green.

NOT VEGAN ANYMORE

I’m absolutely shocked that the restaurant who founded itself on being plant based, “Piante”, has chosen to serve meat and cheese now. Unfortunately, their website still says 100% plant-based and my family placed the order, therefore I accidentally ate regular cheese and now feel absolutely terrible.

Very creative pizza place

It was so cool to go to an all vegan restaurant! They had a ton of options to choose from. We got the appetizer sampler, mozzarella sticks, chicken cheesesteak pizza roll, and Mr. White pizza and we had plenty of leftovers. It came out to just over $90. My only criticism was that they used a lot of vegan parmesan cheese which I wasn’t a fan of but that’s a personal preference. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Breckenridge!

Pros: Tons of options, Friendly staff, Creative pizzas

Cons: Pricey

This place is the only reason I go to Breckenridge. The service is amazing and the Pizza is always great from the crust to the vegan Parm.

Pros: Mozzarella sticks , El Jefe Pizza , Vegan Parm

Cons: Can be a bit tight but that is a part of the vibe!

Wow

So I’m not one to leave reviews a lot, but this place is 9.9/10. Cozy vibes, delicious mozzarella sticks, and before I could even get to a pizza, I got stuff from a new menu item which is a pizza roll (kinda like a super crispy pizza quesadilla). Only reason I didn’t give it a perfect 10 was because they ran out of hot chocolate but I get it, it’s like the only vegan hot chocolate around.
