Incredible - Edit
Everything we ordered was extremely delicious, had a nice balance of flavours and good portion sizes. I was really excited to try the bang bang broccoli and it did not disappoint. The torched and pressed sushi was also very good. I will be returning in the future and recommending to others!

Great plant-based dishes - Edit
The decor is very nice and the staff was friendly. Service was quick and efficient. The juices are all really good (my favourite is the Turm it up) and the food is generally very good as well. Favourites include the Japanese sweet potato, the 1000 layer potato, the miso sushi and volcano sushi. I enjoy choosing a small plate and a side of sushi. These feel more original than some of the bigger plates which I think sometimes lack flavour, and though the portions were relatively small for the price, they were interesting and delicious.

Good but not amazing - Edit
Normally I would give a place like this 5 stars. Beautiful ambience, delicious cocktails, good service. I feel like the flavors on the food fell short. My dishes were bland and lacked seasoning. I got the boa bun which was good but needed acid, the corn dumplings were tasty but needed salt, and the black pepper tofu was just so bland. I’m happy to spend big bucks on a meal but when I need to ask for soy sauce, salt, and chili oil that means that the flavors are off. I’d still go there again and am happy that I went but was definitely not blown away by it.

delicious vegan sushi - Edit
Came here without a reservation and staff were very accommodating! It was a monday so certain menu items were discounted and the staff were very attentive and explained the discounts. This was by far the best vegan sushi I have ever had! I also really enjoyed that there were no meat alternatives on the menu and instead focused on whole foods! Obviously, you pay a premium for sushi but it was delicious and priced fairly all things considered! Would definitely recommend the spicy tuna rolls and the eggplant nigiri!

Like this location - Edit
I travel to Toronto for work often and always try to eat here. I prefer it to the Yorkville location. Bang bang broccoli is a must at this chain. The monthly specials and happy hour menu always has great items. The hand rolls are great and I also like the 1000 layer crispy potatoes.

Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere - Edit
Of the three dishes I tried the Bang Bang Broccoli was incredible, the Crispy Gyoza pretty good and the Chili Peanut Noodles average. So the food seems to really range, though I enjoyed it all.

Outstanding Plant Based Restaurant - Edit
If you are vegetarian/vegan and looking for a nice meal, you can't go wrong with Planta in Toronto. The menu is full of items, all plant based, all worth trying. Great, friendly service.
Read moreThe atmosphere at this location differs from the atmosphere in the midtown location, which is a great thing; both are excellent choices.
If you're planning on visiting, you won't be disappointed, but be sure to research the downtown and midtown locations to get the perfect setting for the dinner you have in mind.

Memorable meal - Edit
Tonnes of options made it difficult to pick, so I just ordered quite a lot of the smaller plates. Everything of good quality and food came quickly. Servers knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. Had the unagi as it was something I always liked pre being vegan. It didn't disappoint. Also went for the 1000 layer potatoes which were good but probably my least favourite. Spinach and shitake dumplings were excellent. Had a spicy tuna roll which was good value as it was maki Monday, $9 for all maki. Finished with matcha cheesecake which was light and not overly sweet. Highly recommend.

I've been in a few Planta's already in the US, now 1st time in Canada. It's also wonderful, great food, atmosphere and service. It's pricy but I appreciate a nice three courses meal and for me it's worth it.

Can’t beat $8 maki rolls at planta! The food here is made exceptionally well. Lots of options and they have a seasonal menu that they rotate every month.
Read moreFor the planta queen location, I would say that the hot foods are not the healthiest - a lot of it is fried or covered in heavy sauces or both. Good as a treat once in a while

It's ok - Edit
It's a mix of Asian food from many countries, so it's kind of a "jack of all trades" deal where most dishes are not as good as they would be in say, a Thai restaurant. But I guess if you haven't eaten good food from various types of cuisine, it would probably seem ok to you.

Outstanding! Perfect birthday meal! - Edit
When my best friend told me to pick a place for my birthday, I suggested Planta Queen as had never been . OMG! Couldn’t have asked for a better, most delicious birthday meal. Based on reviews here and suggestions on my post on TO Vegans FB group, I chose the Bang Bang Broccoli ( uh amazing!!) and Udon noodles in truffles mushroom cream ( so delicious and filling). My omni friend chose Crispy Gyozo and Poke and she enjoyed both. I ordered a salted maple macchiato, maple syrup made in house, was so yummy! We shared the matcha cheesecake ( SO creamy! Not cashew but sour cream and coconut oil 😳) and huge chocolate chip cookie. The menu and decor are so different from Planta Yorkville and now closed Planta Burger to which both I have been. With the menu changing often, I can see why people come here often to try out the various dishes. The Power lunch: starter, main dish and cookie at $28 plus taxes is a great value! I honestly can’t wait to go back again and work through the menu! Truly a must visit vegan or omni!💚
