long wait, but worth it!

Honestly, when we first walked in we were given a piece of paper with our queue number on with no instructions whatsoever. All the queue numbers were read in mandarin so we were pretty confused on how to know our number was called, but the staff there came to us immediately after our number was called and brought us to our tables. when we sat down we had no wifi and couldn’t access the menu, but kindly enough the staff brought us a physical menu. at the end the food was worth the confusion😄

Bespoke vegan experience!

What an incredible meal! 100% vegan and everything was bespoke in presentation and flavor. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service was impeccable. It’s located in a high end area by the water with lots of luxury stores around. A must-visit if you’re ever in Shenzhen!

Incredible

Fantastic and reliable spot for vegans in the Sanlitun area. Can be busy at weekends, but you take a ticket and then the mini-app will tell you how many tables remaining. The rice cakes in particular are something special, but everything (as far as I noted) was vegan and delightful.

Pros: 99% Vegan, Excellent variety, Brilliant service (app-based)

Bella scoperta vegetale a Pechino

La grande disponibilità di piatti vegetali e la cura nella cucina e nell'impiattamento. Personale giovane, gentile.

Wowsers

So glad Happy Cow and other reviewers helped me discover this amazing place. Yes, it's not easy to find (look for the single door to the right of Balenciaga and go up to level 4) but the lift opens up to another world, a beautifully designed space where the dining tables are intimate and separated from each other, almost like private dining. As 2 people we only were able to try a few of the smaller dishes and weren't quite sure what we ordered but just looked at the pictures and everything we got was stunning in taste and presentation - see pics. Clearly food that is lovingly and thoughtfully prepared. I'm planning to go back!

Update: went back and was just as impressed the second time around. No shortage of items on the menu to sample.

Tip: if you are handed a slip to wait for a table, scan the QR code in WeChat to see how many tables are ahead of you. Also check out the printed menu at the ground floor entrance as they have English descriptions which I couldn't find when ordering and paying from the WeChat menu on the phone.

Unbelievably good!

If you go to one restaurant in China, make this be the one! It’s all vegan, incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced. I went with colleagues and we ordered a large selection of dishes; I wish I could have eaten more, it was so good. The truffle rice, aubergine, etc etc were all stunning. I hear that the place is so popular that you may have to queue to get in. We got a table straight away. Service was immaculate. Wow!

Pros: Everything. What an amazing place

Excellent Vegan Dining

QingChun Perma is a large, popular fantastic vegan restaurant in Sanlitun (next to Balenciaga on Sanlitun road). If you arrive without a reservation, you may need to wait up to an hour in the lounge.

The restaurant itself is a matrix of corridors in a Japanese paper wall style. There is even a faux-zen rock garden outside. As you walk to your table, you pass the chefs preparing the fresh, artisanal ingredients. The ambience is cozy and classy but it can get noisy with chatter.

I ordered the tofu skins, sweet taro bites, quinoa tofu, and the coconut taro dessert. I couldn’t believe the low cost of the food given the quality of the ingredients and venue. The tofu skins were heavenly—savory and spicy, saucy and chewy. The quinoa tofu was moderately hot and numbing to the lips. The dessert was refreshingly sweet and cool. However, the small portions left me hungry for more.

Highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

Pros: Huge vegan menu, Beautiful venue, Quality ingredients

Cons: Long wait

Best Meal I Had in China – And It Was All Vegan!

Everything at this vegan restaurant was super tasty packed with flavor and beautifully presented! If you’re vegan (or even if you’re not!), do yourself a favor and eat here. I’d come back to China just to eat this again!
