We've been coming here for years to buy the Chocolate German Cake and occasionally, for quick coffee and dessert.

About 5-ish years ago I became vegan then one day, we went in to buy another Chocolate German cake and I was pleased to see they offered the vegan carrot cupcake so, I HAD to get it.

Delicious. So very moist and fresh tasting. The topping was very flavorful 😋

About 20 years ago I was vegan for almost 6 years in a time where no one knew what vegan meant but nowadays the world is becoming more "plantbased" friendly whether or not they truly understand veganism, raw veganism, high raw veganism, vegetarian, etc so, when I saw Rudy's had vegan carrot cupcake, I asked the girl at the counter how it was made...

The girl didn't know how the vegan cupcake was made so she went to the back and asked the baker to come out to explain. I can see the baker was annoyed at my question especially, when I reiterated confirming no animal or animal byproducts were used.

Although, the baker was annoyed, I was glad she took the time to speak with me and made me feel assured.

I'm glad Rudy's now offers more vegan options.

Rudy’s is stepping up to offer more to their vegan customers. Bagels are all vegan and offering peanut butter, vegan butter, vegan cream cheese. They offer oat milk for coffee and tea drinks, vegan brownie, vegan cupcakes and made to order vegan carrot cake.

Pros: Friendly staff, Old world bakery feel
