Best sandwich ever - Edit
On our first day of our trip to Amsterdam we visited and had the beetroot, wasabi mayo and ‘feta’ sandwich and it was so good that I went back multiple times! I’ve even tried to replicate it since! All pastries and food from here was delicious and definitely should be top of your list.

Not worth it - Edit
I queued on a busy Saturday for 30 minutes or so to try the pastries. The line wasn't that long, but the service moved at a glacial pace. The pastries I tried were fine, but absolutely not worth the wait or the price.

Delicious! - Edit
This place is well worth the hype! We popped in at about 10 am and luckily there wasn't a queue. The pastries are huge (about the size of your head!) and delicious, especially when washed down with an oat latte. Staff were really nice and quick to clean tables once people left. There's limited seating area available, so expect to have to takeout if you come during busier times.

Heerlijk ontbijtje! - Edit

Now I get why people wait 30 minutes to get in - Edit
We went here because of the many recommendations on HappyCow and were first taken aback by the fact that there was a rather large queue outside. But we decided to stay and wait (~30 min) and it was absolutely worth it.
Read moreWe had the pistachio cruffin, the seasonal cruffin, the pain au chocolat with hazelnut and almond filling and a chocolate babka accompanied by latte and hot chocolate.
Everything was absolutely delicious and we really loved it. It is definitely worth the wait.
Pros: The pistachio cruffin, Choice of oat or soy milk for drinks
Cons: You have to wait in line, It's rather pricy (but worth it!)

Considering the hype and the queue outside, I was a little disappointed. The pastries I had were SO oily. Nice but expected more :):)

Busy but worth a try! - Edit
This place is very popular and the pastries are gorgeous. We tried an apple turnover type pastry and the famous pistachio cruffin. The cruffin is very full of pistachio cream, so consider that if you're not a huge pistachio fan! Both pastries were delicious and the pastry dough itself was very well layered - I'd have no idea it was vegan. The line moves quickly, so it's definitely worth waiting a bit, but have a backup plan for where to go to enjoy your pastries because seating inside is very limited. We would definitely go back when in Amsterdam again!

Simply Wow! - Edit
I stumbled upon this gem of a bakery and was absolutely blown away! As a vegan, it’s often challenging to find a place that offers not just options, but truly delicious, creative, and fresh treats. This bakery exceeded all my expectations. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warmest smiles and an array of colorful, mouth-watering pastries that look almost too good to eat.
Read moreI tried their vegan croissants, which were flaky, buttery (without the butter!), and perfectly golden. The cakes were divine, bursting with flavor and beautifully decorated. They even had a selection of gluten-free options, which my friend raved about! You can really taste the love and care in every bite.
What I loved the most was how inventive they are with flavors. From classic vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous combinations like matcha and raspberry, every dessert was a pleasant surprise.
If you’re in search of a guilt-free indulgence or simply want to experience how incredible plant-based baking can be, this place is a must-visit. I’m already planning my next trip back!

the tastiest pastry with a twist - Edit
i hardly can find vegan pastry these days, and Saint-Jean absolutely won my heart! they have so many different things to eat, both sweet and savoury! as far as i understood there's always big demand and big queues so it's probably better to come visit them when they start working when the choice of pastries is most wide
Read morethere's also another place called Saint-Jean Deli just across the road, and as i understood they have more vegan meals there but the demand is also higher 😅 but the food os definitely worth the possible waiting in line!
Pros: pastries taste like "normal" ones!, big choice of flavours
Cons: big queues
