a good option near cat street fashion district

We had a nice juice and dessert. It’s a tea time style cafe in a clothing store

odd but very tasty

We are here by happy cows help. Very nice . A little odd in the middle of a clothing shop.
Today there is one choice- carry dish, very tasty!

eh?

Walked for many a minute to find this place. Kinda odd. More a shop. And when we got there they only had stew. So we walked to Hanada Rosso.

Strange Concept

I agree with the previous reviewer that this place is a bit odd... It's a small shop selling frilly night shirts made from organic cotton plus a few other things like soap and baby blankets. The decor is antique or at least faux antique, which in a way is charming, but also just a bit fussy and old fashioned, especially all the old dried flower arrangements! The atmosphere is very hushed and polite, we felt like we had to whisper. I ordered the sandwich set which came with a small cup of soup and a bit of salad. I wasn't sure what would be in the sandwich as menu is mostly Japanese. Turned out to be some sort of purple paste, I think made from beans. Tasty enough but nothing special. The soup was very salty but not unpleasant, salad was wilted and past its best. The bread however was freshly baked and very nice, the only really enjoyable part of the meal. Considering the small portions and underwhelming food, I would say it's quite expensive for what you get... This place just isn't really my style, I can imagine some people would really like it though. Staff were very friendly.

A little bit strange, but nice enough

We came here looking forward to some nice tea and cake after reading reviews on HappyCow. I have to say we found this place a little strange but not bad. First off the lunch menu IS back now (the last review said it was only cakes but this seems to have now changed again). It's a bit tricky to find in the back streets behind omotesando hills but when we did it's a very sweet little path around the back to the shop and cafe. When we arrived it was a bit weird as the staff seemed surprised we were there so it made us think we'd got it wrong somehow and they were maybe shut or something. There were no other customers and no one else came in at all during our stay, so atmosphere was lacking. Although we were really wanting some nice cake, this was the most disappointing part! Couldn't see any cake on display or see any on the menu (which is only available in japanese by the way, and staff didn't speak any english). However, we did have a veggie burger which was delicious, although kind of tiny. The tea it was served with though was the most delicious we had on our whole trip. Afterwards we managed to get some chocolate cake but it tasted quite stale. They sold a few health foods plus some of their bread rolls, and as we left they gave us some free banana bread. This is clearly a very 'concept' shop and cafe and not sure how well it does as it was so quiet. But, not bad, I wouldn't go again.

Pros: tasty food

Cons: lacks atmosphere, poor dessert

Open only for Cakes

A quiet and small (10 seats) cafe behind Omotesando Hills.
Good to escape from all the bustle and noise from that area.

However, as of Jan. 2014, they only offer a Cake Set (1200 yen). There is usually 3 cakes to choose from. All come with the same drink: White Tea.
Additionally, you can also order a fresh juice.

The lunch might be back later this year, but it is not certain.

Pros: Quiet, Organic

Cons: Few choices

Best place in Tokyo!!

We were going to visit another restaurant in Harajuku orginally, but as it was closed we decided to try Salong Nanadecor. It is a little tricky to find for a tourist in Tokyo, but it is really well worth it.

To get there you take to the left after passing Ralph Lauren close to Ometesando Hills (we think). The sign from the place is not visible when you arrive from this direction so you have to look out for it.We passed it and saw it on our way back down the narrow street.

This place is not the typical vegan restaurant (if there is such a place), but this is not at all the typical restaurant either, since it is also a clothing store and some kind of flower shop. The best way to desrcibe it is kind of Pride and prejudice the BBC drama meets Korean soap opera. :D :D (in the best possible way) The food is really delicious, we had a lunch plate with an appetizer (big portion :) ), meal (falafel and either rice or freshly made bread), and tea with a yummy little cookie. All the food tasted really well made and luxurious.

Our review doesn't really make this unique place justice, but we have to insist that if you visit Shibuya in Tokyo you take the chance to visit! :)

(Oh and everything in there is ecological and also really really pretty... yes, we sound a bit silly but we were really happy to find this place :D)

Pros: Delicious food (!), So so pretty and original, very hospitable

Cons: just a little tricky to find (worth it!), --, --
