There's vegan option - Edit
Good quality "home-made" food. She will serve a plate for you, the menu changes.

A bit on the low side... - Edit
The service is not good at all. There's a man up front but he does nothing basically. Didn't even tell us to sit down or tell us ANYTHING. Marie the cooker/owner? is very nice and sweet. The food is OKAYish...nothing special. But I guess it's okay for the price you pay.
Read moreAnyway, there's nothing else vegan or vegetarian around, so that doesn't leave much choice for whoever lives around here.
I would recommend that you come anyway maybe you'll get better luck as the dishes are always different everyday.
Pros: Vegetarian restaurant, Cheap menu (6.5€/dish)
Cons: Service is crappy

Small restaurant with delicious homemade food - Edit
I went here with my parents and we all loved it. The server (who we believe to be the owner) is very friendly and it seems like she runs the entire business herself. We could choose up to 4 varieties of food and all of them were very appealing. I ordered the chickpeas stew, the cabbage mixture, a slice of leek quiche and a stuffed zucchini boat. I also got some salad of shredded carrot and tomatoes. Everything was delicious and satisfying. The prices of everything are super affordable. Really great value for money. I totally recommend this place and will definitely come back next time I have the chance.

Cheap home cooked style food - Edit
Not quite sure what I had exactly as the lovely lady didn’t speak any English, but I did have black beans and rice, possibly some sort of cabbage stir fry with nuts and then a baked aubergine with a filling and a beautiful juice of the day! Definitely will be back. So so cheap too!

Cons: Not sure what I was eating (hope it was vegan)

Traditional Place with Cheap Healthy Food - Edit
Salpicos Verdes is a small "tasquinha" (traditional portuguese tavern type place, with a secluded restful environment). They serve homemade feeling food for cheap everyday prices The food is not amazing, but you can tell it's healthy, not salty, not greasy, just the type of food your health-preoccupied-mom would cook at home. It's a small buffet where most if not all the options are usually vegan.

Very nice traditional place - Edit
A traditional "tasca" (snack) converted to vegan food? Count me in!
Read moreVery nice place, very friendly staff. The food is good, though not always great, and the prices are very, very low. Well worth a visit.
If you're a tourist you can even visit the Covelo garden, which has an amazing playground. It's also at walking distance from Marquês and the Porto stadium.

Familiar feeling, cheap ($) and very filling - Edit
First, very important, the price, "normal menu": soup + bread + plate + drink + coffee; FOR € 5.
Read moreA veggie and tasty soup with a regular white bread (with mix of cereals). Then you can choose what and quantity you can from the available food. I had brow rice (white availale) and a seitan + veggies mix in peanut sauce, some cabbage rolls stuffed with chickpeas and spinach (this were really good).
There is more to choose from Hot Dish, Quiche and Salads (Cold) and I could have ordered a larger amount but I had already ate bread and fruit before.
There is no alcohol inside, and the beer is 0 °.
Some stuff might have eggs and milk but the staff can explain what it's vegan, usually they use vegetable milk for most stuf.
The staff is extremely friendly and can leave you a smile on your face, at least for me it the difference.
The space inside is small and very local, might see some children playing inside, there are always natural juices home-made. The owners had a previous restaurant called Beringela (Eggplant).
I recommend you to visit this place since it's very friendly. It's near Praça (and metro) do Marquês or Metro dos Combatentes.
Pros: Niceness from the staff, Cheap and filling, Home-made fruit juice
Cons: Small (can be crowded), Food standard instable

Great service and food speaks louder than words - Edit
Salpicos Verdes may not be on most tourist trails in Porto but it is well worth a trip on the metro to find. We went there for lunch and were made to feel very welcome when we arrived although it became very apparent the two ladies serving could not speak English and sadly we cannot speak Portuguese. The starter was a selection of mixed salads served in a buffet style which was fresh and tasty, the main was served at the counter and we were given a choice of 4 or 5 dishes, all of which had been freshly prepared and had a home made feel about them which added to their deliciousness. We also had freshly crushed apple juice which was delicious and refreshing, and their coffee was very good too. The decor is honest and straightforward and reflects the fact this cafe is here for the locals and not passing tourist trade. When we were there, there was a steady stream of customers, all of whom seemed to be enjoying the food as much as we were. This was one of our most enjoyable dining experiences in Porto, not only because of the food but because of the charming, bubbly and friendly staff, who did not let the language barrier stop the from making sure we were happy.

Simples, barato e fantastico!!! - Edit
Recomendo totalmente ^_^

Exceptional place - Edit
Small but friendly place, where they offer various food each day with yummy salad, drinks and dessert for an affordable price. Along with the food, there is a friendly Angolan lady with a omnipresent big smile and warm heart to help with everything and make the experience of dining out even better.
