Cute traditional place near oldtown

There are 5-6 vegan options of the traditional fried flatbread. We had the option with potato salad. Something special! Or you can choose for example cinnamon or peanut butter with jam😄
There is some place to sit in the cool inside and there are some places outside.

Deep fried deliciousness

I mean, whoever thought of deep frying pancakes, I bow before you. 😄 Really the perfect snack or breakfast or any time of day food. It's a simple but delicious concept. They have a lot of different fillings to choose from, very clearly marked as vegan.

Clearly labeled options, not wheelchair accessible

The vegan options are clearly labeled.
I had the (new?) scovergă with oriental salad, and one with sugar.
They both tasted well and the prices are great.

Unfortunately the entrance is not wheelchair accessible, as there is one step and I couldn't see any access ramps.

Cheap snack in the old town

Had the basic pancake with sugar, it was tasty and cheap. Surprisingly, English was spoken and I can recommend a visit.

Life saver!

Being vegan in Bucharest is alright if it’s lunch or dinner time. However, finding breakfast was HARD! Places that were supposed to serve anything vegan were either closed or didn’t serve vegan anymore. But Scovergi was delicious, a full vegan menu and very friendly staff!

Pros: Affordable

Local food

A perfect place for all tastes: from sweets to savory, from breakfast to snacks. When I was in the mood for something, it was always the first choice, also because it offers Romanian dishes in a veg key

Cheap and delicious snack options

Fried dough that is served with sweet or savoury toppings. The cabbage one I can only recommend, but other options are great, too. Usually you order to take out, but you can sit outside as well - not sure if there is space inside. Drinks are also offered.

Pros: Cheap, Traditional food, Quick service

Cons: Can get busy

Nice staff, typical Romanian
Quick service!
I had the number one, it was a good pancake!

Vegan fried pancake

The 'scovergă' is a typical Romanian snack. It is basically a fried pancake, which can be other topped with savioury and/or sweet ingredients. It's simply, but tasty. I had paired mine with peanut butter, which I imagine isn't the most traditional combination - good nonetheless!

Aside from the 'scovergă', there's little other vegan options. Accordingly to the lady behind the counter, only the 'plăcintă cu mere' was also 'de post' (vegan).

Pros: Various toppings to choose from, Friendly staff

Cons: Little options aside from scovergă

Nice typical Romanian bakery

I was really pleased with this place, they have quite some sweet options, but just a couple savory ones. Fairly priced and really tasty!

So yummy!

We had scovergi with garlic sauce (mujdei) and cooked cabbage. Lots of vegan options (sweet and savory) Careful not to order the honey wallnut one that is also on the vegan menu. Apart from that, you are safe!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Central, Queue moves fast

Cons: Yummy and fattening 😄
