Beignets! - Edit
If you want to try beignets while in nola you have to come here! I a Lao tried the southern fried tofu which tasted like excellent leas greasy KFC, the Mac n cheese (not on the menu but you can just ask), and the cheesecake of the day which for me was the Samoan cheesecake which is essentially vanilla, chocolate, caramel and coconut. The food was soo good and my omni friend was impressed. The service was a little slow but nothing to be concerned about.

I got to eat authentic New Orleans food...and stay a vegan - Edit
I thought for sure I would have to break my vegan diet in New Orleans because I just could not pass up on beignets. A google search for vegan beignets turned up this place. I headed there with a non vegan friend and these were the only beignets she needed as well. Returned for lunch for a tofu po boy. I got to eat authentic New Orleans food and return home still a vegan.

Probably the best vegan restaraunt I've been to yet. The gumbo was delicious, and I dont expect to find a better vegan grilled cheese. I will definitely be back.

Pretty good food in a cute place! - Edit
After two weeks in New Orleans and watching everyone chow down on po’boys, seafood, and beignets, I can’t tell you how nice it was to go to a place where I could order anything off of the menu! The food was pretty good, I especially liked the cheese sauce that came with the tofu nuggets because it tasted nutritional yeast-y (god, how I love nutritional yeast). The eggplant po’boy was good as well. Honestly, everything could use just a bit more flavor/ spice, but that could just be the style of food. Vegan beignets were good, chocolate mouse was GOOD. I got a weird/ kinda rude vibe from the servers which was pretty off-putting, but some were nicer than others. All around good and fun meal in NOLA.

EssenceFest and Seed - Edit
I was in NOLA for EssenceFest 2018 and when I say the crowd was ginormous...OMG!!!! And the lines of people were ridiculous. I spent my entire vacation in line in traffic, in line to eat, in line to get inside of the convention center...by the 2nd day I was there I was totally frustrated by the massive crowds. I came with a group of 9...and I was the only one in my group who knew New Orleans. So I was in charge of our daily itinerary and found it hard to break away to visit one of the 6 vegan restaurants I had found online to visit while I was there. Out of the 6, I only made it to one, SEED.
Read moreI left the french quarter and turned on my GPS and went straight to 1330 Prytania St. When I got there it was early evening around 6ish and ambiance was smooth, low lights and mellow. It was kinda busy and I had to search out someone to ask for help and attempt to order takeout. I finally locked eyes with a gentleman and approached him with a question about how could I order take out? I was told that because they were busy take out would be 45min. Having left my cousin and granddaughter in the car...I was disappointed by the wait time. I walked away sadly. When I got to the car with no food and reported about the wait time...my family graciously said...Go back in and order your food. I ran back in...set at the bar...got a menu. The menu was so simple it was scary. I finally ordered the southern fried poorboy...my replacement for my beloved fried oyster poorboy that I once enjoyed but no longer ate since becoming vegan. My southern fried poorboy was absolutely delicious. It was fried tofu, light chickpea flour breading, lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo, poboy bread...OUTSTANDING... Would I go back? Yesssss!!!!
Pros: Great Ambiance , Alot of food options, Very tasty
Cons: Staff kinda of allusive, Wish staff would have been more engaging, Would have loved a recommendation of what to order

It's ok - Edit
Seed is fine for a quick, small vegan meal but nothing (taste, service, quality, cleanliness, etc.) really stands out other than the fact that it's a plant-based establishment. There are several better/amazing food locations in this neighborhood and all over NOLA that are vegan-friendly.

get the artichoke cakes! - Edit
The artichoke cakes were out of this world! I also liked the etoufee we ordered, not so much the po boys though. We also tried the beignets which were pretty terrible tbh. Maybe they were trying to make it healthier? Having had cafe du mond beignets in the past, I was really disappointed with these.

Wow amazing - Edit
Seed is just wonderful. We went there twice (mixed group of vegans and nonvegans) and everything was amazing both times. Their artichoke cakes and tofu poboy are two of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Location is a little out of the way if you are a tourist but not far from wwii museum and a reasonable walk from St Charles streetcar line. If you are vegan in New Orleans this is a can’t miss.

Long time favorite - Edit
I’ve been coming here for years and it’s never a disappoint. Great atmosphere, even when I’m in hurry and grab something to go or bring my friends and family. Staff is friendly and helpful. The nuggets and nachos are my all time favorite. I’ve never had nuggets like these anywhere else, and I’ve sampled quite a few vegan nachos and these always win. Pad Thai is still my favorite and raw vegan pecan pie when they have it!
