Being a native southerner turned Vegan, this is probably the first soul food vegan restaurant that captured my southern palate. I will be back!

Senbeb is not to far from Takoma Park, MD and features a cafe and an organic grocery store. Downstairs they offer various meditation and health classes. The tofu sandwich is my absolute favorite as well as their pancakes during weekend brunch. Keep in mind they do fry some of their foods.

When you walk in, the folks who run this portion of the Senbeb wellness complex are really friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of basic vegan staples, and a small small number of non-vegan (vegetarian) items. If you need some fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, avocados), frozen staples (ice cream, entrees, veggies), bulk goods (nuts, grains) and vitamins/ supplements, this place is good if you can't go anywhere further.
