Great food

We had a fantastic meal for two at Soul Vegan.
Great selection of starters, mains and even deserts.
All tasty and looked good too.
Will definitely recommend and return the next time we are in Edinburgh.

Pros: The food, The choice, The service

Lovely little spot

Came here with a few friends and got a good selection of food - it was all great! Stand outs are the bean curd and lion's mane dishes

Laksa of my dreams

I think about the Laksa from Soul on a near-daily basis. I think it’s my favourite dish I’ve eaten in the past five years. The balance of spiciness and creaminess, the flavours, the faux meat — honestly I could go on and on.

Don’t get me wrong, Soul is all-round incredible. So many other amazing dishes, the satay tofu and the bbq combination rice are other favourites. But I will always come back for the Laksa.

The staff are so lovey too, and try their best to squeeze you in even when you don’t have a booking (it’s small and gets really busy so definitely DO book if you can). One of my absolute fav places, highly recommend ♥️

Pros: Flavours!, Lovely staff

Truly scrumptious

My favourite vegan place in Edinburgh. Working my way through trying every single dish. Big portions, delicious food, too much choice!

Pros: Lions mane , Spring rolls

Cons: Very small space, squashed up to the next table.

Perfection!

We were lucky and got a walk in spot, but I’d recommend making a reservation! We had the gyoza, satay tofu, and Soul’s special deep fried tofu. All were flavorful and delicious!

Simply superb

Superb Malaysian vegan food in Edinburgh. We tried a tofu satay starter, a noodle/broth dish and a katsu curry made with mushrooms. Absolutely exquisite all around. Service attentive and very kind. Cute, clean and cosy interior. Would highly recommend!

Best food in Edinburgh

On our 5 day trip to Edinburgh we visited this place twice. Everything we had was delicious, I wish we could stay to try the whole menu.

Fabulous food and lovely staff

We went to the Dynamic Earth museum on a cold Saturday afternoon and by the time we finished exploring we were starving. We didn't have a reservation, so we were really pleased to get a spot for 4 people (and a pram!) in the nearby Should Vegan restaurant. We realised how lucky we were when many people coming after us were turned away due to lack of reservations and the restaurant being full to the brim.
The staff were VERY attentive and helpful and despite the place being so busy they didn't rush us and took time to offer us recommendations.
The food itself was spot on. We ordered all 3 soups, BBQ mock duck, Singapore fried noodles, pineapple fried rice, king oyster mushroom with lemon sauce and chips.
We enjoyed everything, especially the mains (though my 5yo loved his sweetcorn soup). The Singapore fridge noodles were packed with veg and the fried rice was so flavourful. I had king oyster mushroom with lemon sauce and it was a fantastic combo of gentle flavour of crispy coated mushroom mixed with a punchy aroma and taste of a rich lemon sauce. The char siu mock duck was also excellent - moist and well seasoned.

Pros: Excellent service and the nicest staff, Good sizes portions, Delicious food

Would give it six stars if I could!

This is the best vegan food I've ever eaten. It's my new favourite vegan place and I will be 100% sure to visit next time I'm in Edinburgh! I ate there twice and both times was blown away by the flavours and textures. The tofu satay skewers were just incredible. I don't think I'll be able to find better vegan food anywhere (but I'll keep trying!) and I feel so happy that I got to eat here!!

Georgeous!!

Small malaysian restaurant with great food! Everyone is so friendly there. They refill your water constantly, refilled our pot of tea with hot water and the dishes came quite fast. Even the japanese whisky we tried was great! Booking is required, it was really full.

Malaysische Küche in UK

Delicious!

This is a very small restaurant so I recommend booking. It's a little bit more expensive than others but I thought it was 100% worth the price, the food was amazing and the staff were great. The special fried tofu was some of the best tofu I have ever eaten!

Outstanding

We had two starters, two mains and one dessert. Every dish was delicious with also different flavor’s, making the whole experience outstanding. Before we ordered, the waitress asked for allergies. We can really recommend the tofu as a starter!

Pros: Well informed staff, Freshly made food , Plenty of flavours

If you’re looking for THE vegan restaurant

in Edinburgh, look no further. The place might be very crowded, but rightly so. The food is really really fantastic and just feels so authentic and well prepared, anything but five stars would be insane. Come and try out for yourself!

Pros: The dishes, the staff, good whine

Cons: Very busy and crowded

Perhaps the best vegan restaurant I’ve visited

This is a fantastic place. Vegan food that feels to be the original thing and not a substitute. Everything, from the gyoza to the surprising sweet potato and ice cream was precise and imaginative.
