Saintly food in Rockville - Edit
I've been here twice. The first time I had the Mumbai Burger with tater tots, it was yummy but a little pricey I think for the amount of food. I also had the sesame balls which were delicious. The second time I had the bahn mi with a side of soup, and summer rolls, delicious.
Read moreThe service can be good, the first time the lady who helped us was very nice and attentive and brought us our food. The second time there was a young man behind the counter who seemed a little annoyed that we walked in, was on his phone the whole time, and called us to the counter to give us our food. I noted that the restroom was also not very clean at that time.
I like how the food is served but they only have plastic cutlery, bamboo or metal ones would be nice for dine in customers. Also asked for water and I felt that the cups were rather small, and there's nowhere to refill them 🤔

Pros: Selection of dishes, Cute ambiance, Service can be nice

Great Food! - Edit
I have been here many times and they have recently updated their menu. I got the shredded medley bowl with hot and sour soup. The soup was so good and that's hard to find a vegan version. The bowl was great and they recently added the option to do half greens and rice or all greens.

Poor service, mid food - Edit
Honestly was pretty disappointed. To begin, our server or cashier seemed like he couldn’t care less to be there or not. He even made me and my partner move tables to a small one with no room just so some white people could sit at our table? No please or thank you at all? In addition, whatever this drink was it was most definitely not a matcha. Iced matcha involves ice and this was just green water. Genuinely horrible and no flavor whatsoever. The food was alright, expensive for what it was and definitely tasted straight from plastic and cans.

Tastes greats; friendly management - Edit
We came here as a party of 4 and got great service. The banh mi sub and bowl are both good. 1 mumbi thing is super spicy but they changed the order to a pho once it was determined they couldn't make it less spicy. Down side: 1 bathroom with no paper towels (solution was bringing a napkin in for the handle on the way out.)

I got the katsu curry bowl and fried cauliflower. It was decent enough and filling but I wasn't crazy about it for that price. Cookies were not to my liking. I want to try their other options next time.

Love that it's all vegan - Edit
I've eaten at St. Veg six times, during which I've had the Japanese Katsu Curry Bowl; the Shredded Medley Bowl; the gluten-free Spaghetti and Veg Balls; the Crispy Flower Bites and Crispy Tater Tots with dipping sauce; and the Apple Pie. Everything has been tasty and filling. It's great that the food is fresh and locally sourced. The restaurant is very casual and has outdoor seating as well. Every time I've been there, the server has been extremely helpful when I was placing my order, even remembering that I like coffee.

Food wasn’t bad but… - Edit
I personally wouldn’t come back. I got the apple pie and a taro pie. The apple pie felt undercooked. And the taro pie had a really cold filling. I also got the pho flavor bomb which was more sweet than savory, and the side of pho broth has the nice , basil-y flavor you’d expect from pho but there’s also something else in it that was off. I tried some of my friends Pho and again, the broth was odd, like it had an aftertaste. Their bahn mi was pretty great but I find the prices to be quite expensive and I really like the sunshine cakes. The food isn’t bad but it just isn’t tasty enough for me to want to come back and spend what I spent again

Great Bahn Mi sandwich - Edit
I thought the menu of this place seemed too ambitious given the huge variety of choices. I was very pleasantly surprised with the Vietnamese bahn mi sandwich, however. Super tasty and an interesting twist using shredded tofu in with the pickled vegetables. Definitely a keeper!

Flavor bomb and apple pie - Edit
There's something comforting about St Veg food. If it's rainy or I'm feeling like I need a pick me up I start craving it.
Read moreI almost always stick to the Flavor Bomb Pho dip sandwich (the dipping pho is addictive), the shredded medley Bahn mi, and at least two apple pies (one for later). The apple pies are reminiscent of the McDonald's apple pies that I used to love as a teen, but even better.

Super friendly and welcoming staff! The owner is delightful and full of good information. I had a staff member check ingredients on each item due to a food intolerance so I have a list of what I can order in the future.
We are now regulars since we found St. Veg!!! I love having an all vegan restaurant where I know we can all order off the menu & not wonder what we're getting.

Everything is great, personally me and wife disagreed on the sauce with the meatball sandwich. I thought it was ok, she said it was great, but again I grew up around a lot of Italians in the Nj/ny area so I’m picky about my sauce.

Amazing all vegan small business - Edit
Been here a few times and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. So far the shredded medley bowl, the tots, Mumbai bowl, flavor bomb pho dip, lavender iced tea and shredded medley bahn mi have all been top notch. It also helps know that by going in supporting a small local business.

100% Vegan Amazing Restaurant - Edit
I can’t believe it took so long for me to finally try this gem of a restaurant. 100% vegan and house made delicious dishes that truly satisfy your taste buds. I had the pho (not pictured because I gobbled it up) and the medley bowl (half brown rice and half greens) and finished off an apple hand pie. I also have had the lavender iced tea and highly recommend the fragrant beverage.

Best vegan in MoCo - Edit
St. Veg is my go-to restaurant. The shredded medley bowel delivers good texture and flavor and can be low carb with greens option. The vegloaf is a terrific invention. Suggestions: 1) Always order extra vegloaf and shredded medly. 2) Order Mumbai Koftas with sauce on the side. The sauce can be used all week. The cookies are very good.

Absolutely Wonderful in Every Way - Edit
The food (all organic) and staff are amazing. We were greeted with a warm welcome when we came in, assisted by one staff member who answered questions about our order. Then the cook went to work and did her magic. Wow, we were just blown away by the quality of the meal, the flavors and textures, and spices. While drawing on many traditional cuisines including Vietnamese, regions of India, and more, St. Veg has its own unique spin on things. The ingredients could not be fresher. I'd had their incredible sandwiches in the past, including the Veg Loaf and Mumbai Sub. This time, I got the Pho soup, and it was the best I've had. My husband's burger was also tremendous and had a crunchiness to it that was extraordinary. His fries were crispy but not overly oily. And the soft spring rolls are, like the soup, some of the best I've had over a lifetime of enjoying international meals. I should add that another thing that is unique about St. Veg is that they don't use processed mock meats but make their burgers and other proteins from scratch with vegetables and legumes. This is a delightful change from processed products. The restaurant is simply and pleasantly decorated. You order at the counter and are served. I mentioned to the owner that I can't remember seeing a restaurant so spotlessly clean, another sign that every attention to customer care has been addressed. We don't live nearby but have determined we will go out of our way to return regularly.
