hidden gem - Edit
hidden up a lane, so hard to find unless you know it’s there, although it’s actually massive! we went at lunch, great food, service was excellent and was £25 for two lots of soup & sandwich, two drinks and a coffee, which i thought was pretty decent. they also allow dogs 🐶

Vegan Haggis! - Edit
The daughter and I loved the Haggis Bon Bons over mash. My hubby loved the broccolini with polenta and luscious gremolata. He said the double fried chips were the best he's ever had. The Black Forest Tiramisu was divine!

Get in my belly. - Edit
Yes, this is the place to go to. Down a little lane with the only signage above the door. We walked past it at first. Greeted and served by very friendly staff. The menu given was different than what I downloaded from the website so just a heads up.
Read moreWe ordered the Buffalo Burger with chips and the Kimchi & Grilled Cheese with chips. They both were absolutely incredible. Their hand cut chips were perfect. I cannot wait to go again. Recommended.

Great bar to hang out in - Edit
This review is based on the drinks and late night ambiance. Got there too late for food but had a nice time standing near the bar. The concert venue has a separate entrance and requires the purchase of a ticket.

Excellent food, gorgeous building - Edit
This place can get busy, we walked up early tea time on a Wednesday and earliest table available was a couple of hours later
Read moreThis gave us some chill time at the hotel before heading back. Pleased that the place is busy as hopefully business doing well.
I had the buffalo burger and my husband had the haggis balls. He was really pleased with his main and I enjoyed the burger. My husband also ordered the cannoli which he liked, especially the cream.
Service was friendly, it was fast until the end of the meal where we were waiting to request the bill, we eventually paid at the bar.
The setting provides lots of talking point with posters for up and coming events on display. We could hear an event going on on the floor below (I think) but the sound didn’t interfere with conversation.
The building is a Charles Rennie Mackintsoh, one of those times in Glasgow (which are many) where you need to look up to appreciate the architecture

Lovely all around - Edit
We loved the food, ambiance, and lovely staff at Stereo! We had the Nam Khao and Buffalo Burger, both were delicious. For dessert, we shared the Black Forest Tiramisu, which reminded us more of Black Forest cake, but it was really good anyway. The vibe was really nice and welcoming and staff was friendly and attentive. All in all, a definite recommendation!

Food is unreal! - Edit
We had 4 dishes and 2 cocktails: dumplings, haggis, Camembert and chips, and the drinks were black currant gimlet and passionfruit margarita. Every single mouthful was incredible, so so tasty. I could happily eat there every day. Huge choice of drinks and the staff were friendly.

A welcoming place - Edit
Stumbled in here almost by accident because we were just looking for a place to get some chips around the Central station but wow, what a nice surprise! The Stereo is a very welcoming, integrative place that’s here for everybody, and besides the nice atmosphere, the food is nothing but great - finally found a place that offers vegan Haggis! Absolute banger of a vegan restaurant, would love to come here again!

We had the haggi, camembert and the greek salad. The haggi was great, probably the best and the camembert was very good. The greek salad was okay but not the best.

Classics done right - Edit
I popped into Stereo for a bite before jumping on a train - it's really conveniently located, just a stone's throw away from Glasgow Central, tucked in a small side street. Their menu is full of interesting and creative stuff, and they have daily specials which looked interesting, but I was craving a burger, so that's what I had. I know some people were disappointed with their food, but mine was delicious, the patty was fullf of flavour and I particularly liked the miso and nooch sauce. The chips were incredible, and the portion size perfect for someone very hungry. I'll try to visit again to test some of their more unusual recipes.

Great bar with good food - Edit
Tucked down an alleyway just close to central station, this bar was packed with a great vibe. Good beers and nice staff and had one of the chicken burgers with buffalo sauce. Friend had the deep friend haggis balls. Both were great with good size portions. Recommend

Update July 2024: After a few years, I was back in town for one night, so made a bee-line for Stereo. (Easy to reach from Central or Queen Street train station.) The burger description attracted me, but I chose the polenta with pea pods, zucchini and Savoy cabbage - it was tasty, and green food is good! Also had Black Forest tiramisu, which was lovely.

Busy and loud at 2 pm on a weekday. Sandwiches include tempeh with caramelized onion, which was delicious. I had the sandwich with soup - carrot & lentil, very good. Daily specials included a wrap and salad. Noticed a sign for World Vegan Day saying "all food half-price." Great stuff.

We stopped here for lunch after arriving at the train station, and everything was delicious! I also appreciate that our server warned me that the Greek salad was quite small, so I could order hummus and flatbread as well.

Avoid - Edit
Ive visited good few times in past decade and slowely it has been going down the hill. I remember days years ago when you could get proper delicious food here. Unfortunately it hasnt been the case in last few years. I had silesian dumplings which were hard and were swimming in a dill soup (they meant to be served with sauce) definitely not great. Buffalo cauliflower ( which I tried in different places few times and loved it) were greasy and the sauce was horrible and I felt sick after eating 2. Mayo has no taste and has a texture cream cheese. Ketchup is passata. I dont remember eating somewhere where everything was not tasty . My friend had a burger and she didnt enjoy it.
