Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Roomy, nice amount of options - Edit
We had starters and main courses. The food was comfy and home style, but mostly bread and vegan protein, not much of vegetables.

Homey food with purpose - Edit
The best thing about this place (apart from the food) is the pay it forward meal they do, where you can choose to pay for half or a full meal for someone in need at the conclusion of your meal, super ethical and wonderful business practice!
Read moreThe food was also fab. We grabbed the goulash and the schnitzel with potato salad. The potato salad was a potato salad, but the schnitzel was so perfect - the crumb and texture of the “meat” was literally perfect, nothing like the pre frozen vegan schnitzel you get from supermarkets.
The goulash was heavy and rich in flavour, and paired perfectly with a red wine. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to try some authentic Czech food!
Pros: Goulash , Pay it forward meal , Schnitzel

Must do when in Prague! - Edit
We enjoyed a great dinner at the Strecha. A restaurant with a great purpose, to help people who experienced difficulties in their lives. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and attentive. You can also pay for a prepared meal for someone in need, which we did. I recommend this place to everyone visiting Prague

Good place for all - Edit
Strecha offers lots of options for lunch or diner. Take your non-vegan friends here, because there is plenty on the menu that will surprise them. Nice drinks and large desserts, very reasonable prices. This is a social enterprise where you support local people.

Great Czech food - Edit
Service was very friendly and extreme fast. I ordered a garlic-soup, but didn't taste a lot of garlic in it. But after all the soup was very yummy. As main dish I ordered the traditional goulash, it was quite heavy just as you expected from an traditional vegan dish, but also a great opportunity to experience local tastes.

Posto fantastico - Edit

Went for dinner and everything was amazing. Had the pickled tofu and it was amazing, tasted almost cheesy 10/10. Had the dumplings on cabbage, very tasty. Cabbage was sweet and dumpling filling smokey - nice combo. Had the best hot chocolate of my life and tasty berry cream cake for dessert. Would recommend.

First night in Prague found this fabulous restaurant. Totally vegan menu. Staff were friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. I had the soya goulash, Heather had the kebab. Both were delicious. Can’t recommend enough, will definitely be going back. Also supports homeless snd ex offenders back into society, brilliant

Fantastic place, vegan heaven - Edit
If you're vegan, you can't wish more - Strecha ("Roof") is simply the best. 100% vegan restaurant, located in the ground floor of a building in the cool quarter of Nove Mesto. Rich a la carte menu plus daily menu (one soup and two mains daily on work days). Many items on the menu are traditional Czech feast dishes converted vegan. Friendly, kind and attentive staff, fast service, fair prices. On top of all, thumbs up for their socially responsible and supportive initiative. Respect!
