Weird working hours.

Did not manage to eat there. First time, I tried, it was still closed (around 13:00), second time, around 15:00, they suggested me the morning menu, that is basically crepes only. It seems the real food can be ordered only in the evening during the street-food market time. The owner seemed not to be very friendly to me for some reason.

Pros: Location

Cons: They use garlic, Small, Limited cooking hours

Disappointing food and sad to see single fish in a small bowl on the counter

I'm an ethical vegan so I was glad to find this new vegan cafe had opened since I was last in Koh Phangan.

I had the Tofu satay plus the 'Betel Leave' starter - however there were no betel leaves involved in my dish - huge shame as it gives this well known Thai dish a crunchy and distinctive taste. Instead, the cashew and lime mix were served in boring lettuce cups. Really disappointingly bland. If they'd have told me they didn't have betel leaves I'd have chosen something else.

The satay sauce was watery and lacking in any real heat and I didn't think the chunk of pineapple attached to the tofu on the stick didn't anything for the dish - again it just made it more watery and bland.

Although there was only me and another diner the dishes took absolutely ages to arrive.

When I went to pay, I was saddened to see a lone goldfish trapped in a small glass bowl at the counter. The bowl had virtually nothing in it beyond a small piece of greenery. Poor thing kept coming up to the small opening at the top for air. Very sad to see this in a vegan restaurant.

Won't be returning.

Pros: Nice setting with green plants, Food made freshly

Cons: Goldfish kept in really unsuitable conditions, Bland food, Long wait for food

Coconuts ARE NOT VEGAN

Thai coconuts are not vegan. They use slave labor of monkeys to harvest the coconuts for them. Monkeys are chained when not working and work Monday- Saturday from 9-5, with a short lunch break.

The training that the monkeys require is CRUEL and unnacceptable. Please vegans make some noise about

Not when you watch them pick them off of the tree for you.
