One of my favorite Vegan spots in Japan! So good I visited three times! - Edit
Not much needs to be said here. If you are in Kichijōji, you ought to visit Sunday Vegan. Lots of variety and great prices.
Read moreLike many bakeries, they seem to do a single baking run in the morning; so definitely try to swing by then for the best donuts.
Proximity to Inokashira Park and easy pathing to the Ghibli Museum make this a convenient addition to a Kichijōji itinerary.

Very nice doughnuts - Edit
I had two doughnuts, both were very nice but a bit dry. Ideal for taking takeout to inokashira park (don’t forget to 🚯).

Delicious - Edit
The cream donut was so good. Close to the park so you can enjoy it there (but note there aren't any rubbish bins at the park).

Hot take: chocolate > lemon - Edit
I got both the chocolate cream and lemon. Based on all the lemon love here I expected more. The chocolate cream was far superior, and was nice and cool for this hot summer!
Read moreYes…. I admit…. I am a chocolate guy at heart so there is some bias here.
Pros: Friendly service, Nice small seating area, Yum chocolate cream!!

The lemon donut was delicious! - Edit
The chocolate cream donut was okay, but the lemon donut was tasty. However, there are better donut shops in Tokyo; I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this one.

Hi, would love to hear about other vegan donut shops in tokyo. Seems like Good Town and Doughnut Plant are now gone?

Hi! Good Town Donuts is still in Harajuku, and it’s one of my favorite places to eat. I checked Google Maps for Doughnut Plant, and it seems like it’s permanently closed

Cream Filled Donuts! - Edit
Came here for donuts and wasn't dissapointed! They serve a variety of donuts and other pastries. I was super excited to see cream filled donuts so I got a caramel cream donut and a chocolate one, as well as a kinako donut. The cream donuts were yeast donuts with a whipped-cream style filling and the kinako donut had red bean paste inside! All three were delicious and not too sweet. Second best vegan donuts in Tokyo.

Cons: Sugar on the outside is really messy!, A bit small for the price

Donuts and coffee - Edit
We visited for breakfast this morning and was treated to so many different varieties of donuts. The donuts were delicious, super light and warm. The coffee was also the best coffee we have had in Japan so far.

These are not world ending donuts but I would gladly eat them if the world was ending - Edit
OK so many of the reviews here seem to think that these are pretty meh donuts - but they’re actually pretty bangin’, as per the recommendations on this page we got a lemon donut, and also a custard filled - which was really more of a cream filled donut but honestly - don’t care cause it was the bomb diggity! The texture of the donuts were amazing. So unique, chewy in a complimenting way. If you’re in the area (like visiting the ghibli museum) this place is a must stop for coffee and donuts. The oat latte goes hard, probably the best vegan coffee we have been able to get here in Japan.

All about the lemon - Edit
The stars are all for the lemon glazed donut, it’s greasy and lemony and amazing! I’ve tried a few of the filled ones, and they’re fine, but the reason I go back is for the lemon.

Yoooo!!!!! These donuts were soooo good 😭😭😭😭 I got a box of 6, and got an additional one for free! I would recommend the vanilla filled one, and the plain donuts with both sugar and lemon frosting ✨✨

Ok - Edit
I had high expectations for this place, but maybe because it was afternoon (less fresh donuts) or maybe because of the selection they had left, I wasn't that impressed. Unfortunately there were no filled donut, which I was looking forward to.

Excellent vegan donuts - Edit
So nice to see another option for vegan donuts in Tokyo!
Read moreThe place is small and offers a small range of donuts (as well as some little knick knacks like plates and magazines).
All of their donuts are vegan and you can see them making the donuts / icing at the place itself.
I got the cinnamon donut and caramel cream donut. Very delicious. The caramel donut had more of a creme brulee (burnt caramel) flavour rather than an overly sweet caramel, which was a nice surprise. Very affordable too (I think they range from 200-350 yen each).
Great modern fitout, with two benches inside if you want to sit and eat (Although it's a small area - worth going to the park which is nearby to enjoy the treats instead)
Staff are very friendly too.
Would recommend if you are in Kichijoji.
Pros: Excellent donuts!, Freshly made , All vegan
Cons: More takeaway than cafe (few seats available), Smallish range of donuts

My Favorite Vegan Donuts in Tokyo Yet! - Edit
As a self-proclaimed donut snob, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the donuts at Sunday Vegan - most donuts in Tokyo, in my opinion, have been just "meh".
Read moreBut OH MY! Sunday Vegan delivers on every level! Full of flavor, the dough light and yet "donut-y", none of the artificial sugary sweetness that is so common. Just spectacular!
We got four filled donuts (peanut, custard, caramel and cocoa berry) and the old-fashioned coffee. All of them were *chef's kiss* amazing!
I don't often go to Kichijoji, but now I know I that will change!

Amazing vegan doughnuts!! - Edit
So glad I stumbled across this place! They sell vegan doughnuts as well as some other foods, like coffee, oat milk lattes, juices, scones, and cookies. There are some unique doughnut flavors like berry chocolate, coffee, caramel, etc. Bought a few to try and everything was delicious! Doughnuts are super soft and fluffy. Would highly recommend😄

Absolutely amazing. - Edit
I’ve been a big fan of their Sunday bakery at Shinjuku but for them to open up a vegan doughnut shop in Kichijoji was mind blowing. With flavors only found here this is a must place to check out if you’re in Kichijoji.
