Fantastic Experience

Lovely decor and friendly owners. The burgers were absolutely smashing but not greasy/heavy. Instead of a drinks menu, you’re asked questions about how you’re feeling and given a personalised delicious drink. Would definitely go back

Cute spot, visit for the vibes

This spot is decorated great, very cool with records and vintage stuff everywhere.

They have a limited menu, a beet burger with different toppings and fries. They make a drink based on your mood and ours was delicious!

Cool venue and tasty burgers

Had fairly small menu but my burger was super tasty. No alcohol, but soft drinks made and mixed to order I actually forgot it wasn’t a cocktail 😅
Cool venue with lots to look fab and explore while you’re there. #Veganuary

Great beetroot burgers

If you are craving a delicious and healthy homemade burger, this is the perfect place to go to. We tried some wedges and a slice of lemon cake as well. Everything was exceptionally tasty… Also, it’s a great location and a fun place to hang out.

Pros: All vegan , Friendly staff , Cool location

Meh

Interesting concept run by kids. Lacks ac and clarity on its concept. Play records. Order from limited menu. Fries meh. Burger the highlight. They only take cash or QR code. They ask you your dreams and feelings for drinks. They didn’t have my choice so what’s the point? Silly! Go to kommune. Better food and same price.

The Realest Cozy Spot in Penang

The coolest spot in Penang. The beetroot burgers are homemade and delicious, the cats working the coffee bar, play vinyl rare groove, refreshing art on the walls, sofas. Yeah, just go. If you order fries make sure to request ketchup on the side if that's not your thing. It's a super chill spot and really the most worthwhile spot in the north and you'll be happy you stopped in if you like music, art, comfy vibes, aircon, and awesome people. Look at the frothy crema on this coffee. Wow, like totally cool, man. If you're leaving Malaysia, this is the right place to make your last stop to put a sweet taste in your mouth and a fond memory in your heart. 🌱💚🌱

🍅🍟😭 I get it, where to squirt ketchup is one's perogative! Also whether to choose to even squirt at all if it's that nasty cheap ketchup 👎🏻

Ketchup should be outlawed. Considering the amount of insects in that stuff it's about as close to veganism as fox-hunting.

Decent burger

Very simple menu with only burgers. I had the beetroot with avocado and the wedges as a side. Good, but wasn't blown away.

Cons: No wifi

Super good burgers

Although the menu is very small, they know what they're doing with their burgers. It's delicious, and I really recommend taking the full option with vegan cheese and avocado - the best!

Vegan haven and heaven

I just had the pleasure of visiting SUSU Vegan Mylk Bar in Penang for the first time since their relocation, and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience! The new spot is brimming with character, and although the menu isn't as extensive as some other places, it's packed with fantastic options. The burgers, in particular, were even better than I remembered—truly some of the best I've ever tasted! What makes them stand out is the fact that they're made with natural ingredients rather than store-bought plant-based meat. It takes real skill and a keen palate to create patties this good, so hats off to the talented team at SUSU Vegan Mylk Bar! Now, let's talk about their omikase mocktails. These delightful concoctions are tailored to your tastes through direct interactions with the owner, and leaving the order details up to him adds a whole new level of excitement to the dining experience. It's definitely something memorable that sets this place apart. It might not be your conventional dining spot with proper tables and chairs, but that's part of its charm. Whether you're a local or a visitor, SUSU Vegan Mylk Bar is absolutely worth a visit. It's a place where you can indulge in delicious vegan food, refreshing drinks, and great vibes all around!

Great little spot

Quirky little spot, small menu but tasted great. We shared a beet burger with cream cheese, simple yet really delicious. Good sized portion too.

Drinks are fun, you tell him what type of drink you want (hot/cold, sweet/salty/caffeine etc) and he goes and makes you smoothing! So great!

Full of comics about the local area and can choose records to be put on!

Pros: Quirky , Portion, Taste

This was the best Burger we have had in Asia! The cheese, the patty and the chips were all just PERFECT. When in Penang and fancying burgers, you neeed come here. The lovely owner gave us some great illustration books to read about penang which was so lovely & the whole decor is so cosy & relaxing. Just to add we got a personalised drink which was so so great & it was super delicious too 🥰 #Veganuary

Good food, fun drinks but expensive

We arrived pretty late and they only had one burger option left, which was no dramas. Burger was delicious.

The drinks mixology gimmick was cool and the coffee with cinnamon I ended up with was delicious. Unfortunately we never saw a drinks price list.

Paying the bill was a bit of a shock as the drinks ended up being almost as much as the burgers, and we didn't actually have enough cash on us to pay the amount as it was way higher than expected (and we didn't know this when ordering).

We offered to go to an ATM and come back but the owner was extremely chill and insisted on just taking what we had on us, which was 9 RM short of the bill. I felt pretty bad about that but at the same time we didn't know the price when ordering and had enough for most other lunches.

Overall I'd recommend as the owner is really nice but just be aware it can add up quickly.

Now this is what I call a burger 🍔

Who would’ve expected that I’d have the best burger of my life somewhere in Malaysia? Not me, let me tell you. This cute retro café offers one thing: burgers. And there’s a reason for it: they’ve perfected the burger taste. From the fluffy brioche bun, followed by the amazingly flavorful patty and the warm vegan cream cheese, everything was perfect. Add some avocado if you want and you’ll be in heaven! The pickled red cabbage adds a great fresh touch to it as well. Drinks are curated on what you like, so there’s always something new you can try!

Pros: Burger , Drinks , Interior

Perfect Beet burger in quirky setting....

Oh my, oh MY!! SUSU exemplifies why I adore Penang and why Penang is my foodie paradise! Their beet burger is a true masterpiece…. flavours and textures balanced to absolute perfection…. the BEST veg burger I’ve discovered in all my global wanderings (and better than my own homemade version!). On presentation of this black bun stacked with inches of filling: smashed avocado, pickled red cabbage, beet/mushroom patty topped with cashew cream cheese and sprinkled with salty/peppery seasoning, I was momentarily perplexed about how I was going to actually eat it; but after the first chomp I was all in…. it certainly takes two hands to tackle, but all held together surprisingly well. Every morsel was savoured. It takes confidence to offer such a limited menu, but I’d want for nothing more from SUSU… SUSU is Beet Burger! Actually, SUSU is more than beet burger….it’s intriguing interactive decor is charming and quirky. There are vintage knick knacks to play with, 70’s magazines to wonder at…. and endless stacks of vinyls and cassettes to select your “tunes” from. I chose a nostalgic album, an old fav of my Mum’s, and when seated in furnishings of my childhood, the atmosphere comfortably connected me to long gone times. Ken, our cheerful host gave time to explain the food, the artefacts, the art and history… it was overall a fabulous experience that we will revisit time and time again… Thank you Ken!!

Travelling through time

The place is full of charm: vinyl, cassettes, record players, radios and magazines as well as art.
The menu is small but the burger was very good.
I asked for a tea and they brought me a kombucha that was very good, but I didn't know the price and I was surprised when it came to paying. Pay more for drinks than food.

Pros: Atmosphere.. music, Burguer, Kombucha

Cons: Menu without drinks

Amazing customer service and excellent food

The waiter told me they do not use anything but vegan products including honey - as soon as I sat down.
The menu is small but such a great burger - quite a big burger so no need for sides if not hungry. Mushroom and beet, smashed avocado burger with cream cheese and cabbage. Underneath is some salted crisps.

They ask you how you are feeling and concoct a drink up accordingly, which was a pleasant “one of a kind experience”.

Not too expensive either, 25 RM for the burger.

cafe gives someone’s front room vibes, with music playing from a vinyl player and the walls filled with art.

Vegan Paradise

Our favourite place in Malaysia. Great food, bespoke drinks & food, great music and magazines all over the place. Ideal to take a break from the heat. An absolute must for every vegan and every human being that loves perfectly fine tuned vintage details. The owner is one of the most lovely and caring people we’ve met here, this place touched our souls!

Big amazing vegan burgers!

This place definitely has the best vegan burger in Malaysia, not just Penang. Honestly one of the best I've ever had: it's delicious, healthy, and filling. What more could you ask for? They have nice drinks and lovely cheesecake too, the staff are very friendly, and it's a nice place to relax while walking around George Town. Comfy vintage vibe. Veg burger fans must visit!

Pros: All vegan menu, Reasonable price, Filling

Fabulous ambiance and food!

We loved it here! It’s like walking into a funky antique living room where everyone knows everyone else and the food is tasty. We felt welcomed and blended in with everyone else. While there we tried out their new cheesecake- absolutely delicious! We also got to meet a celebrity DJ! Fabulous experience!
