Warm, cozy and delicious

Since I've discovered Takumi Ramen I cannot think of another place to go when I want to have a solo-dinner. I like the quick service, the size of the ramen bowls and the flavour I get eating my miso ramen!

Pros: Vegan miso ramen, Size of the bowl , Smiley service and environment

Cons: It would be a dream to have more vegan options

Rich

Takumi Utrecht was as good as I expected from the Takumi chain! The shoyu tofu ramen was heartwarming and the broth was wonderfully rich. Happy to know there's a Takumi in almost all of my favourite cities, still missing Haarlem and Leiden.

Had a good vegan ramen

Had a good spicy vegan tofu ramen. Was in doubt between giving 4 or 3 stars. Chose to give 3 because there was nothing to complain, but it was not something distinctive either.

Great spicy ramen broth

I'd been to a branch of Takumi in Prague and enjoyed it so I was quite happy to try out another one.

I had a spicy tan tan ramen and it was delicious. The broth was great, it had a good depth of flavour and it had a good level of spiciness without being particularly hot. The noodles were plentiful and tasty.

The vegan mince in the topping was plentiful and well flavoured. The other standard toppings were fine, bamboo, cabbage, spring onions. There was the classic whole pak choi, I'm never a fan of this as it's tricky to eat. This time it was cooked well and I could bite through it easily. There was a big piece of cooked red pepper which felt quite out of place.

The yuzu lemonade made for a nice refreshing drink too.

Not greasy!

This (new?) place is a real gem and a wonderful addition to the Utrecht food scene. The ramen is authentic and the food is not greasy at all. It is quite busy though, so even though I went by myself, I still got waitlisted. They said it would take about 20 minutes, but I got seated after only 10. My meal also came out in about 5 minutes which is insane! I chose the vegan shoyu ramen (R22), which came with a wide array of vegetables. They all tasted really fresh and not bland at all. The broth itself could’ve used a bit more salt, but really let the veggies take the spotlight. Though the noodles were a bit soft, they didn’t taste fried which is something I really appreciate compared to instant ramen. I loved the seaweed; it made for a beautiful umami flavour. Definitely order the homemade iced tea, it is not too sweet!

Pros: Tastes healthy and wholesome, Really kind and passionate staff, Big portions

Cons: Pretty expensive, Could’ve used more salt (add it to the spice rack?

3/5

It’s a pity that the vegan options are limited because the place is very nice! The ramen is very tasty! Be careful about the “no meat” option because I asked and they contain eggs (including the veggie gyoza)

Pros: Ramen very tasty, Friendly staff, Nice interiors

Cons: Would be nice to have more vegan options
