Delicious but pricey! - Edit
A really good selection of food to choose from. I really enjoyed the fried pickles and nachos. Vegan wine clearly labeled on menu. Sadly it’s just very expensive and won’t be returning anytime soon.

You sure look fine your shoes they shine - Edit
An aptly named place for a visiting Ambassador where you will find a raft of NZ craft beers from local breweries. The hazier fantazier they are the better.

Jalapeño poppers! - Edit
I finally got to try vegan jalapeño poppers at this place and they did not disappoint. Craft Embassy has a bunch of other vegan options too, and a great selection of craft beers and ciders you sometimes can’t get anywhere else in the city. Book a spot or get in early to nab a table by the window to see over The Terrace and river, otherwise this place can get quite busy.

mmmm ok - Edit
There were a couple of meal options and I ordered the V Burger. It was a big falafel and it was, I thought, a fairly good falafel and really better without the bread. I wasn’t sure why the fries were ‘rustic’ as there were pretty much run-of-the mill. We were in early, around 6, and it was quietish and easy to hold a conversation.

Vegan options - Edit
I got the V Burger and fried pickles. The burger was nice - moist burger and filling with chips on the side. I usually love fried pickles but was a bit disappointed by these here as they were only pickle strips in heaps of sweet, hard batter, so you couldn't evwn taste the pickles.

Great for beer. Ehh for vegan - Edit
Handful of options and the non vegan food sounds to have been good but pretty average on the food front. Great great beer options though! Will definitely go back for some tastings

Falafel at the river! - Edit
Oh how I love beetroot by the water! It really does make you happy. Quite a number of vegan options and the battered pickle may just be the best #Veganuary

Good options, however... - Edit
We came here for a celebration dinner. The service was outstanding - genuine, friendly and helpful (special thanks to Maddie and Ben).
Read moreThe food was mostly just ok though, sadly. The warm olives were barely lukewarm and the accompanying lavosh wasn't fully cooked (should be crisp). The cauliflower steak dish ($35) was basically a raw section of cauliflower with singed edges, plus accompaniments. That was sent back and replaced with the falafel salad, which was mostly nice but let down by the chewy rocket stems (like eating straw - why leave those in... not good).
We were lucky enough to be dining on the balcony and really enjoyed the view (it pays to book, and request outside seating). We'd look at coming back again but maybe once they have some different vegan menu options.
Pros: A few vegan (and veganisable) options, Fantastic service, Nice views from the balcony seating
Cons: Pricey, Some items are (or were) poorly prepared

Great food here, must do in CHC - Edit
We had fried pickles and rustic fries as a starter. Amazing house tomato sauce, brilliant fries, the texture was amazing. The pickles were alright, the pickle to batter ratio was a bit off, too much batter to pickle, but they were very tasty and crunchy.
Read moreMains, we had a vegan burger (had mine with salad) and also a falafel salad with halloumi (husband ate this), they were really nice. I added some extra avocado, which made it amazing. Salad was dressed really nice, bit of spice to the dukkah in the salad but pleasant.
Also had a mojito with sofa water, yum! So much flavour.
Highly recommended restaurant!

Terrible seating, average food - Edit
We booked for 8, had 7 (due to illness) and still very cramped uncomfortable corner booth seating. Asked for outdoors if fine, seated inside. (It was fine.). Bun on vegan burger stodgy and dry. #Veganuary

Very thoughtful bar menu - Edit
Just went for a wander down the river and saw this bar. Didn’t even know it was already listed in happy cow! Pleasantly surprised to see it had good vegan options. The staff are super friendly, the ambiance is awesome and your spoilt for choice in beers. The food was also really really good! It felt like they made the food vegan because they didn’t feel the need to use animal products. It is on the pricey side though but expected since it’s a bar, not a restaurant! So fair enough. We had the jalapeño poppers and the tofu pho. Recommend both.

Would give 5 stars if I could on here - Edit
Lots of great vegan options (the jalapeño poppers are particularly delicious) along with such a good range of craft beer (most is vegan). Staff is amazing, great location. If I could give it 5 stars (I can't because it's not fully vegan/ vegetarian) I would!
