Lovely gastronomic dining, rushed service though - Edit
We absolutely loved the food! Delicious, lovely combinations, and nicely presented. The meringue in the eaton mess (made from aquafaba) was perfectly crispy!
Read moreService was very friendly, although very ‘rushed’. We had hardly started our aperitif (a small amuse geule to go along with that would have been nice) and the appetizer was already served! The main course and dessert also followed very rapidly.

Best vegan breakfast ever! - Edit
Found The Gate in a review of 10 best places to go for vegan brunch and wasn't disappointed. The vegan full English breakfast was amazing and came with great toast and homemade jam. The staff were lovely and helped us decide what to have. Would definitely go again next time we're in London.

Nice location - Edit
We went here for lunch/brunch. The restaurant itself is very nice and the service was very good. We were, however, a bit disappointed by the food. The full English breakfast looked very nice but frankly the sausage was one of ghe worst I ever had - on the other hand the rasher were very yummy.

Perfect for a special occasion - Edit
Have eaten at this branch and the Kings Cross one - food delicious both times! There is a great selection of interesting vegan options.
Read moreThis is definitely a "special occasion" restaurant and is priced as such, but I do think the portions plus the quality are good value all the same.
Pros: Wonderful food, Great vegan options, Friendly staff

Vegetarian Brunch - Edit
My family visited this location of The Gate for brunch. We did not know reservations are required, though the hostess found us a table in back. There are great vegan and vegetarian offerings on the brunch menu, including tofu scramble, omelettes and vegan pancakes. There is also a good selection of freshly squeezed juices and organic wines. Good veggie brunch option in London.

Serves brunch with good vegan options - Edit
This branch of The Gate serves brunch with several good vegan choices. I had the "Full English" which consisted of scrambled tofu and spinach, grilled tomato, mushroom, hash brown, bacon, sausage and toast.
Read moreOverall it was good, although more expensive at £12 than other vegan places doing breakfast, and the scrambled tofu lacked flavour. The hash brown, mushroom, tomato and sausage were good.
Others had the herb omelette, raw banana and flax seed pancakes, scrambled tofu and the beetroot and quinoa burger. All were reported as being good.
Pros: Serves vegan brunch, Central location
Cons: On the expensive side
