Nice vegan range

A bit pricey but has an amazing selection of vegan foods, anything from dry chickpeas, to curry paste, to frozen pizzas, cakes, chocolate range, etc. Fresh fruit and veg too. Will definitely be back.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Fresh fruit and veg, most without plastic , Nice vegan ice cream

Cons: Pricey

Whatever you need, these guys have it!

I search the length and breadth of the area looking for a certain herb mixture (ras el hanout) and I should have looked no further than The Grocery, as they had it and more. I love going here, I go in for one thing and come out loaded. Clean and friendly too.

Pros: Huge selection, Friendly, helpful staff, Clean store

Cons: None!

Disappointed

Sad to say that unfortunately I have stopped shopping here; many times I would pay more than what I previously calculated in-store before buying (I often round up to the nearest pound in my head, too) and as it turns out I’ve often been getting short-changed here. Pointed it out a few times to the cashier and/or owner, and yes, it always wound up that he had “overcharged”. Happened too many times, so no longer shop here.

Green Grocers

The grocery is a great place to visit if you need to stock up some vegan items such as wholefoods, milks, syrups, breakfast bars and vego bars (yes you read it right.. vego bars), as well as fruit and vegetables. On my most recent visit I stocked up on some frys pies, tempeh, a crate of chick peas and spices for about £15. Some items as you would expect are a little expensive in price but having a convenient store like the Grocery outweighs any negatives for me.

Pros: Vegan options, Fresh produce, Convenience

You are the Everything

This store's been here for years, I'm sure they even had a sister branch further down the road with the same name. Rather surprisingly you'll find a pretty good selection of vegan food items here from pulses, frozen pizza from the V-Bites range to tempeh and Frys meat products in the freezer. I'm a massive condiments geek and I was really pleased to get my hands on a rather unique brand of chilli pickle as well as a jar of Pataks Brinjal pickle which I've been desperate for ever since Morrisons supermarket stopped selling it. Both adequately priced at £1.99. Keep an eye out for the bargain shelf too where today I picked up a pack of Suma seitan mix and some fresh tortilla wraps at half price. Local shops always tend to charge a bit more. Fair enough. I'll definitely be back again, it's open late and is very handy for the increasingly vegan friendly community of Heaton.

Pros: vegan items , Frozen items , fresh produce

Cons: can be pricey , parking
