Best Veg Option @ SDSU

Update: No longer has Impossible meat as of 12/23.

The Halal Shack is great. The veg proteins are chickpea korma and Impossible, but there are other vegan proteins as toppings, such as black beans, chickpea salad, and kale quinoa salad. It is designed as a build-your-own with multiple bases (wraps, bowls, salads), fresh veggies, and sauces. There is an allergen menu posted at the front that helps with confirming vegan choices. My Impossible bowl was sooo good. Between their seasoned Impossible meat, fresh veggies, and a big scoop of hummus, I was very happy with my lunch.


Note that this is located in the East Commons (food court near Love Library) at San Diego State University. If you are not already on campus, it may be tricky to park and it is deep within the campus. However, it is a hidden gem of the campus, especially for vegan options. Controversially I would argue one of the best vegan option flavor-wise, although I still appreciate the all-vegan Plant Power.
