Not that great honestly

Really wanted to enjoy this. The guy serving was really great and helpful. However the vegan sausage supper fell flat. The texture of the sausages were like dry mince. The chips were ok though.

Good after some drinks!

Good to find a chippy that does lots of vegan options and the guy who works there/runs it definitely knows what vegan is and things are cooked separately which is quite rare for fish and chip shops. Chips were great, had vegan battered sausage which was fine. A lot of calories but hit the spot!

Chippy with several vegan options

Definitely nice to have vegan alternatives at a chippy. Battered sausages were good! Black pudding was not a favourite. The man is nice😄

Great Vegan Options

Living in Finnieston, it would have been a crime not to try a spin on my favourite food of all time. Fish and chips.

The Kent Fish & Chip Shop has been a place I ordered from a couple of times, and yesterday, I was able to finally go in person.

When ordering, I thought the food was a bit expensive, but going in person at lunch time meant I was met with the lunch time deal. The Tofish normally being £8.80, suddenly for £5.80. The Tofish is definitely the highlight for me, the vegan chicken nuggets are slightly bland but still good, and I have yet to try the remaining two vegan options.

The guy behind the counter was super nice, making jokes, and making sure I knew what was what for my first time entering. He also seemed to have a lot of regulars who popped in and out, and this shop created a mini community around itself as I waited (not very long) for my meal.

Overall, I really like this place, and although the quality has varied a couple times (cold chips, portion sizing differing), I could not be happier that I can join in with my flatmates when we have a chippy.

Vegan chippy

A fish and chip shop with a separate vegan menu, and a vegan fryer.
I was lucky enough for.a fellow worker to bring a tofu fish and I've an black pudding and chips in for lunch.
All were good, the black pudding was the winner. All traditions style, pudding in better,.
Stopped for a grab and go lunch and enjoyed very much. Black pudding and sausage suppers. Yum.
Great start but going downhill. Poor experience on my last visit and the trust has gone

Omnivore compromise

This is probably a good compromise if you have non-veggie people wanting fish and chips. It is takeaway only, and do collection but not delivery. The online menu is not very clear on the range of vegan options e.g. tofish is marked vegan but the curry sauce is not (but is vegan). The tofish was a bit bland but portions are large. The staff were friendly.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: No delivery

Classic chip shop food

We had the munchie box (tofish, nuggets, sausages and the burger) and some curry sauce and was it spectacular? No, but it did really hit the spot for the craving of a classic chippy.

Only thing I'd probably change is the tofish, that could probably be improved a bit or just choose one of the other options to go in the box.

Meh.

I had the battered sausages, they had a strange texture and didn't taste at all like sausage meat (in comparison to a lot of the fake meat options available). OK if you're simply craving something battered & oily I guess.

Nice to see vegan options in a traditional fish & chips shop!

I went there specially for a banana blossom "fish", misled by an incorrect info on the internet. Disappointment - their fish is made of tofu and seaweed!

I found the tofu very bland, however batter was very nice and crispy. Chips very good and the portion was huge!

I wouldn't go there specially for this dish, but it's nice to have a vegan option when you stop by with your omni friends.

Better to go there in person, because if you order on delivery platforms, you only get 2 pieces of "fish". In person you get 3!

Pros: Couple of vegan options to choose from, Big portions, Open till late

Cons: To-fish is a bit tasteless

Great selection

Had the box that gives you a taste of everything. With 4 options we had black pudding, fish, sausage and nuggets, and a drink each. Other options available too.

Yum

Great to have a chip shop where you can feel at ease that the food is truly vegan. Fantastically generous portion of tofish and yummy chips. Would have given five stars if allowed.

Was sick after eating to-fish!

Ordered the vegan fish and chips as I haven't found a good vegan replacement, but it looked like it was just a bit of tofu wrapped in seaweed then fried. Didn't agree with my stomach and was feeling queasy for hours until I had to be sick! Very slimy and not worth the price paid at all so very disappointed. Would like to come back to try something else, but think that they will need to work on their to-fish recipe, particularly the texture!

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Expensive for what the fish one was worth...

very nice to see vegan chippy options. The fish I had was just a fried block of tofu, but still tasted good. Really friendly staff too

Best chippy in Glasgow!

One thing I missed going vegan was a good chippy, sometimes chips just don’t cut it and it’s always been hard to find options without having to travel further away. We’ve tried pretty much everything on the vegan menu now - the burger and haggis are definitely our favourites, the chips and Sheese are great too! Wouldn’t go anywhere else for a chippy now, the guy who works there is lovely too and very helpful. Easy enough to get to the shop, or they are on just eat/Uber eats too!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cheap food, Good portion size

Cheap and cheerful

Love the menu at the Kent - tried the tofish supper which was very tasty. Vegan chippy food - what’s not to love! The man working there was very excited to discuss the new menu and explained how everything was made!

Solid

A chippy offering some vegan dishes - the haggis was really nice and the tofish as well. The chips were a bit soft for my taste but it was a cheap and filling meal.

Pros: Chippy with vegan options, Cheap
