One of my favorite vegan spots in SD - Edit
A large menu with a variety of options, friendly accommodating staff. My go-to is the kung-pao chicken but everything on the menu is delicious, you can’t go wrong. The Thai iced tea is a must too!

We Will Miss this Place!!! 😭Great Dishes - Edit
I will be sorry to see this restaurant go away. It was one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego, County. Let's hope that they reopen somewhere near.
Read moreI love this restaurant and hope they are around for years. So far, I've had the lemongrass chicken and had the filet mignon steak and the another chicken dish a couple of years ago. Today, I had the Bun Bo Hue. My favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken. The food is good and my wife thinks so too. That means it is great tasting.
We haven't been back here in a very long time because the Kung Pao Chick'n, my favorite, had a very bad texture. Today, 2/25/2023, we decided to return, and it turns out they went back to the old recipe, and it was good.

Great spot for a quick sit down lunch - Edit
I am grateful to have many choices around my office. The PurpleMint is great for take away or a quick sit down meal.
Read moreI usually order for take away but feel like eating in. It’s a bit rush to get back to work on time but their service was timely. So I only need to watch my own time spend here.
I love lemon grass so I ordered the lemon grass with tofu and a side of white rice. It was so delicious I finish the whole plate.
Definite would visit more often.
Side note: watch out for deep fried “chicken”, my last take away the little fried nuggets in the dish was too hard to chew.

Purple mint has great thai tea, but most of all their food is great. I loved their dishes that incorporate ‘duck.’ I have no idea what it is but it tastes so dang good. Ambience is cute too!

Great Drinks & Entrees - Edit
The Purple Mint was a fun Friday night dinner. The service was fast, the staff was friendly, and the portions were generous. The drinks were great and served in cute glasses. The entrees were tasty. I liked how my orange chicken had fresh oranges.

Rivals the Bay Area’s Vietnamese - Edit
As good a vegan Vietnamese meal as I’ve had anywhere. We had a beef banh mi (excellent) and the unique black noodles (fun). I love seeing unusual things on the menu, and this place has quite a few.

Epic Vietnamese! - Edit
Wow! Take me to the PurpleMint any day because the Vietnamese vegan food here rivals that of San Jose, and I've had my fair share at this point. Delicious quality, stellar flavors, and a fantastic ambiance is how I would sum up this lovely spot.
Read moreMy friend and I ordered their Crispy Rolls (fried egg rolls with veggies, taro, vermicelli), the Braised Duck Noodles Soup, and their Kung Pao Chicken. The crispy rolls were fantastic - deep fried to perfection and complimented with a vegan sweet and sour sauce. The duck noodles were A++. It had a burst of umami flavor in the broth, wonderful firm rice noodles, with a mock duck on the side that's one of the best texture-wise to other mock duck meats. Finally, the Kung Pao had great chili flavors, seasoning, and nicely fried soy protein with wonderful texture. Everything was magical on the table and left us wanting more.
Pro tip - I loved being able to add a medley of vegetables to any dish for $3. It really kicked up our Kung Pao Chicken to have a mix of zucchini, broccoli, bok choy, carrots, and more to amp up the quality and variety of nutrients in the dish.
Aside from the food, the atmosphere was spot on. We loved their outdoor, covered patio - very comfortable outdoor seats and plenty of breathing room. The interior is also lined with greenery and there's even a mini pond inside that you walk over upon entering.
Hands down would absolutely recommend anyone checking out PurpleMint. I would love to come back here someday for more of their awesome offerings.
Pros: Wonderful indoor ambiance, Quality Vietnamese options

So many options! - Edit
I couldn’t decide! I’ve been here twice now and everything I’ve gotten has been amazing. The shrimp spring rolls are possibly my favorite. They’ve been out of the walnut shrimp each time but that must mean it’s good!

Delicious and Fresh - Edit
My girlfriend and I have eaten here twice so far. Both times all of our food (and drinks!) have been amazing. Everything simply tastes, for lack of a better word, ‘healthy’. The presentation is great and the restaurant itself has a unique atmosphere. There’s also a vegan donut place right next door

Over the years, this place has always been one of our favs. The Orange Chicken is so good - and I love taking the Buddha’s Delight juice with that. The eggplant dish is also super delicious.

Has all my favorite dishes vegan. Had the “shrimp “ spring rolls and bánh mì sandwich with lemongrass “chicken” sandwich with iced coffee with sweetened condensed almond milk for the dessert. This place would be perfect if it had actual desserts. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

The Purple Mint - Edit
We stopped in to Purple Mint and absolutely loved the decor and vibe. They were playing nice tunes and have a nice mixture of real and fake plants to amplify the atmosphere.
Read moreWe started with a Thai tea and then ordered Yam and Sweet Potato Curry and Ma Po Tofu. My curry had such great flavor - I just wish I’d have gotten the baguette instead of rice as my side. Both sides of rice seemed like they had been sitting out for awhile. The Ma Po Tofu was very so-so. I’d rate a 3.5 if I could.
If you’re vegan (or not) there’s something on the menu for you (and a few doors down there’s a sweet treat for you as well (donuts, vegan and non vegan!)
Pros: Amazing vibe

This is a great vegan option in Del Cerro, with quick take out options and great atmosphere for dine in. The avocado egg rolls are great for any vegans craving the ones sold at cheesecake factory that are no vegan.

Awful - Edit
Do not understand the good reviews on this place. I love to support full vegan places but I’d rate this a 1 star if I could. I never ever complain about subpar food and this is the first restaurant I actually stood up and left. The food was actually cold when we got it, the food wasn’t authentic (they literally had those packs of mixed freezer veggies like green beans and corn IN MAPO TOFU) and all around gross. The only plus is that they were very nice to us.

Aesthetically pleasing interior, satisfying food - Edit
Hue Style Spicy Noodle Soup is a plentiful meal with plenty of ingredients--the shiitake mushrooms are my favorite part. However, it is also prepared with a liberal amount of oil. The restaurant has nice aesthetics and the service is very attentive.
