10/10 - Edit
I kind of ended up here accidentally as another vegan restaurant was closed. My fear was that it was a ‘typical British’ experience (I got a bit tired of British food after travelling in the UK for long). It wasn’t at all. They serve English breakfast but they have so many other great options, we tried the croissant (one of the best I ever had!), the crostini with onion, and the pancakes. Everything was super delicious and staff was so so friendly it was such a nice experience to have lunch here. The only thing that was a bit off was that the music was a bit loud for my liking. But maybe I’m just getting old😄

Land of leather! - Edit
This place is caked in leather. All the seating was leather, all the sofas and all the chairs. It was very off-putting and distressing to see, so much so I decided to have my meal outside in the cold where the only plastic chairs were.
Read moreIf you are an ethical vegan, avoid this place as it is about as far from ethical as you can get! They’ve just jumped on the vegan food bandwagon.
Also, the food is very average too. Far better vegan places out there. I had the vegan full english breakfast, tiramisu and oat milk late, and the only thing I enjoyed was the coffee but even that was a bit cold.

Cons: Leather seating

Are you 100% sure it is genuine leather, not eco/vegan analog?

As the property is rented (https://grovelands.net/property/10722-2), it's quite likely the fixtures and fittings, inc. seating, come with the building. I'll try to remember to ask; at the next London Vegan Social.

So much salad! - Edit
The mains came with most of the plate filled with different salads which feels very healthy, but it did mean that they weren't very filling. However, it was all very tasty and I had plenty of space for dessert!

Excellent and simple dining experience, but unsafe. - Edit
My meal was excellent. I stayed and spoke to the staff for a while and they were extremely friendly and open. I'm happy to support this location.
Read moreOne bad situation. I came back the next morning for breakfast. While I was here, two men came in and stole my backpack while I went to the bathroom. I was disappointed that the staff didn't do anything or say anything to the men that walked in, obviously took what wasn't theirs, didn't buy anything, and casually strolled out. Staff didn't provide me anything for assistance, said it was completely my fault, didn't even offer a coupon or discount to return. Because of this poor treatment, I change my rating based exclusively on the morning staff.
The evening staff on my first visit were very professional and friendly.

Delicious - Edit
Had a veggie breakfast burrito which was presented really nicely and tasted delicious. I only wish it had been more filling for the cost.

Tasty & handy location! - Edit
Right next to Baker Street Station - the Veg Box has tons of gluten-free options and a huge fully-vegan menu! It was quite expensive for quick-lunch style food, but definitely worth a visit.

Tasty light meal before a train - Edit
I had the Buddha bowl with some wedges on the side. Light and fresh food that was tasty and wholesome. Friendly staff as well even though it was the end of the day. I will visit again when in London earlier in the day to see the full selection!

Firstly, this cafe has a beautiful interior design. Two floors with self service water

Food options include everything that’s delicious and breakfast until 2 appreciated.
I had the classic British breakfast with sausages and scrambled tofu, baked beans (warm!), mushrooms, spinach and tomato plus some hashbrowns and sourdough (also nice and toasted!)
Everything was exactly how I like it
Great food. If I was to have a tiny complaint it’s that the hash browns were a bit oily. But that’s minor. Overall 10/10 because the taste and portion size were on point.
Highly recommended

All vegan - Edit
First visit, I chose the Sri Lankan curry bowl. Very tasty, served with rice and shredded carrot. The sticky ginger cake is more dense than the dessert I’m used to. I want to try the breakfast burrito. The breakfast/brunch menu goes till 2 pm. There’s a lunch deal, where you get a smaller portion of the mains for under 10 pounds. Lots of seating upstairs, besides the tables on the ground floor. I'll try to eat here again soon.

Great space&food - Edit
I think they sell themselves short going by Veg Box Cafe. People may not be aware about a lovely space upstairs which is a proper restaurant. The menu is also a full restaurant menu. The difference you see at places that understand plant-based eating.. Dishes are well balanced and absolutely delicious.

came for breakfast - Edit
Coming into this place right when we landed in London, it was a beautiful vibe. We sat down in the upstairs area with gorgeous interior decoration and waited for our food. The plates ‘veggies sunrise’ and ‘frittata’ looked stunning when they arrived but the flavors weren’t equally as stunning. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy my food but I’m also okay with lots of pepper (on the mushrooms) and spice (the beans were a lil spicy) and I can see how that could be off putting to some taste buds since it’s not advertised. I love me some spice but I think restaurants should be wary of the fact that there’s people whose bodies are quite sensitive to that, so it shouldn’t be assumed that even mild levels of spice are okay. The aioli was great, I liked the sausage and the frittata although not too flavorful; the tofu scramble was very average and the potato fritters were sooo dry and also cold. You gotta fry that again or just freshly when ordered.
Read moreAll in all - there’s some from for improvement but I also enjoyed it, so I would come back to try other dishes since it’s so highly reviewed.

Lovely staff - Edit
The place is gorgeous and the staff is really friendly, but the food was really underwhelming to put it nicely. Between the frittata and the veggie sunrise breakfast, I preferred the veggie sunrise. Both plates were beautiful, but the mushrooms had so much black pepper it made me cough and the hash brown triangle was not at all crispy or delicious. Some things lacked salt while others were over seasoned and not in a balanced way. The staff took the sourdough bread off my meal without consulting with me first because they were afraid of an allergen, but after I approved it several times, they continued to ‘verify’ in a way that went from what at first I took as really cautious and great customer care to now overdoing it and not communicating with each other or lack of trust. I did get the bread in the end, but the food was cold by then.
Read moreOverall, I like the place and the concept. There is still room for improvement though 😌🫶🏽🫘🥦
