Good value meal

Not far from Kings Cross station and located inside a YMCA building- you could easily miss this place if you didn’t know it was here or spot a menu outside.
They have set meals £10.95 have snacks and drinks available. We ordered a stuffed paratha meal & dosa wrap meal and both were good portions and very tasty. It’s nice that this place exists in a community space

Quiet stress-free atmosphere and lovely staff, good vegan food. This place is a haven in the middle of the stress that is London (at least to me).

100% recommended

After almost missing the sign next to the entry I was glad that I found it.
A large variety of all vegan options. I had the rice with vegetables and Masala Dosa which was very delicious. The other stuff looked very good too. Extremlx nice and friendly

Pros: Delicious food, staff making you feel welcome

Wonderful Indian Flavours

What a great place! Looks like a community centre with a few tables laid out but the food is the real deal.

I got the roti wrap and it was soooo tasty! Came with lentils too. Very authentic Indian flavours. I enjoyed it a lot.

Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Additionally, while I like fake meat as an occasional treat, it was so nice to see a place use whole foods instead.

Highly recommend this if you’re in the area!

Lovely community feel, friendly and great food

I came on a Thursday lunch and was so surprised to find this great place bustling with activity. The staff were so friendly and polite, the food was delicious. The cafe was busy, but my food arrived quickly, however my juice took a long time to arrive, but the staff member was apologetic and it didn't ruin my experience (you could see he was rushed off his feet!). There were plenty tables and a book shelf in the corner which was lovely.

Pros: Good price, Friendly staff, Lots of delicious options

Community gem

Really nice place with simple yet tasty food. Food that doesn’t look much but has flavour and is filling.
Just what we needed for a quick lunch spot.

The mango lassi was good but the masala chai tea was lacking in flavour slightly. More fresh ginger and cardamom needed.

Pros: Simple and relaxed, Quick service, Simple menu done well

Cons: More flavour needed in chai tea

Makes me very happy

Simple cafe with excellent vegan food and welcoming staff. I have the masala dosa, which is very tasty and filling, with a mango lassi, which makes me very happy. All reasonably priced. Love that they have an ethical approach and do charity work too.

Amazing family-run Indian canteen

Based in the YMCA near the British Library, Thenga is a haven for a casual and delicious lunch. The options rotate: simple but perfect home cooked food. It never disappoints! There’s a vegan mango lassie (which is a rare find) and you can hang out there for hours. The staff are super friendly and remember repeat visitors.

Great

Don’t really know what to say other than that their food is super cheap and super delicious.

Staff are great and service is very fast.

The ambience is a bit unusual but it’s perfect if you want to grab a quick bite.

Would recommend 10/10

Superb place, team and food

What a brilliant place this is. First time I've been, and I will be back every time I pass through.

The sign above the door reads,'Your vibe attracts your tribe', and what a vibe.

You get a fantastic welcome and a menu that is full of wonderful options. I picked the roti, an energiser, and a masala tea.

The food is packed with flavour, freshness, and quality. The drinks are refreshing and tasty.

Thenga has a new tribe member

Pros: The welcome, The food, The drinks

Cons: Nothing

Wholesome, quality food in a microcosm of tranquility

A wholesome little cafeteria-style eatery with tasty, affordable Indian offerings nestled in the heart of King's Cross.

Food was fresh and well made, though a bit lacking in spice for what I've come to expect from Indian cuisine (I'm sure I could've asked for it though!). I had the roti wrap, and also ordered three pakoras and a samosa, which came to an amazing value of £21 (along with a coffee and a can of Coke). Great affordable vegan food, especially for Kings Cross! I would've liked if the pakoras were warmed up, but I really can't complain much there.

Service was quick and the owner was so very friendly and greeted me with a huge smile. The atmosphere felt like a cross between an Indian school cafeteria and a yoga studio, and was a quiet reprieve from the crowds before catching the Eurostar.

I love to see that vegan offerings in London aren't limited to just super chic and expensive restaurants (though they have a place in my heart too!). Thenga was a wholesome place and I'm happy to support the independent vegan scene!

Pros: Food, Peace and quiet, Price

Great surprise

I was psyched to find this adorable place near King’s Cross station! The location was a bit odd- inside a YMCA but that had no negative impact on the food. I got the lunch plate which was a big portion and very reasonably priced (esp for London). Everything was super flavorful and the people working at Thenga were so friendly. I’d definitely come back!
