Tiny place with delicious food - Edit
A very small and easy to miss spot. I tried the thunder tea rice-very unique and delicious dish. The soup has a herbal, nutty and slightly bitter taste and was served with lots of crunchy yummy veggies. Great place to go if you are looking for some healthy vegetarian food!

Healthy and Light on the Palate - Edit
Healthy and affordable homecooked Chinese-style food with a focus on natural and organic ingredients. No egg or dairy used according to the staff, though some drinks may contain honey. Taste is light on the palate, seemingly with less salt / oil / sugar. They sell some groceries too. Staff members are very friendly; during Chinese New Year we bought a yusheng set from them and they even chopped up extra fresh vegetables for free for us to add to the yusheng. Old-school little shop (might get a little hot) tucked away in Fortune Centre, near Bencoolen MRT and Bugis MRT!

Favorite veg spot in Singapore - Edit
Wonderful, friendly veg restaurant tucked into a side hallway in Fortune Center. Came back most Fridays for the Mee Rebus special, which is incredible. The couple running the shop are also very kind and came to know us. I can’t recommend this highly enough!

Home cooked goodness - Edit
Staying at hotel G, tried many places at Fortune Ctr this place is very real. You get to meet the person who cooks for you. Very healthy tasty dishes without too much oil and salt. Definitely try this place out if you are sick and tired of outside food and miss a nice home cooked meal. Try the daily set and their daily dessert.

Underrated - Edit
Time for me to review. I think this shop is rather underrated. A weekly affair for us to eat there. They could qualify as an organic vegan eatery actually but as the shop is helmed by an elderly couple and another chef/assistant, they don't deliberately brand themselves as one as their objective is just to provide honest meatless home-cooked food. They are located in Fortune Centre, 2 shops away from Herbivore. What impressed me was the natural flavours and ladyboss' (Ling Ling) culinary skills. She is particular about her cooking methods and its nutritional value and hardly do any deep frying, mostly lightly or air-fried. As the name suggests, this is a place for healthy plant based meatless meals. Our palates have adjusted to the natural flavours that this shop has to offer!

Healthier choice of vegetarian food - Edit
Lighter taste of food.

Mock anchovies in red yeast mee sua soup & black bean noodle soup seem out of place.

Not much flavors - Edit
I thought the food was quite bland and it felt like the dishes were missing something. They also charged for a glass of tap water.

yummy CNY goodies! - Edit
popped by past their opening hours and found the stall still open! the lady boss there was very friendly & opened a new container of CNY goodies for me to sample 🥺
Read moreshe’s also knowledgeable on her products! for the CNY goodies, all of them are vegan except for the kueh ban kit (contains eggs) & the cheese tarts (contains dairy). was also a little too late as many have sold out :’(
pineapple tarts ($16.80, roughly 24pc)
the crust was flaky in a good way & the quantity & sweetness of the filling was just nice 👌🏻 not too sweet! reasonable price, was very pleased & bought a container for myself!
overall it was a pleasant experience & i’d love to go back another day to dry out their dishes & perhaps get more goodies!
Pros: many vegan options, friendly staff

healthy local fare - Edit
The shop’s motto is healthy veg food, with a strong Buddhist stance. Apart from selling the usual local fare of lei Cha and noodles etc, they also sell some vegetarian snacks and food items such as noodles and condiments. Everything is very reasonably priced, especially when compared to the other stores at fortune centre.
Read moreI do find that their food is slightly blander than the other eateries at fortune centre, but I suppose it can’t be helped where chinese eateries try to provide organic veg options. I do love the service, which was very friendly.

What really distinguish one business from another? - Edit
I chanced upon a copy of Tian Yuan Healthy Vegetarian Food Paradise leaflet at Pine Tree and do not really bother at all.
Read moreWhy?
Not to mention the fact that you cannot actually see this place - which is hidden behind the shops?
Simply put, it is not uncommon to find vegetarian and organic grocery shops everywhere these days. I can even find one of such establishment in the wet market near in my neighborhood.
So, what really distinguish one business from other? Guess, maybe it is the service personnel and the "technical know-how" (the ability to introduce the products in creative ways via new or quick and easy recipes or quick demo etc)
This shop does not have a smart styling. But don't let no-frills decor fool you, it can be a hidden gem! However, I met a very friendly staff in the shop, willingly sharing knowledge on their products and answering all my questions patiently.
One of them was preparing some unique green papaya pickles for their regular customers. Hence, I was being offered to taste some. Green Papaya Pickle with Passion Fruit Paste, what a healthy, delicious and yet unique pickle!
Imagine the refreshing, sweet, sour and tangy flavor on the green papaya - simple awesome! And I bought a tub @ $5 which was very reasonable, as green papaya is only available at wet market and passion fruit paste is expensive.
The passion fruit paste is also available in the shop, you can use it to make a Passion Juice Drink or Passion Fruit Spritizer (Passion Fruit Paste with soda or sparkling mineral water), or as salad dressing on Beetroot and Turnips Salad/Fruit Maki Roll or as jam for pancake or bread or ...
If you want hassle free and just purchase the Green Papaya Pickles, give them a call to avoid any disappointments. Besides, they do sell ready-made Sea Coral Jelly (it is good for those who do not cook). They have cooking workshops too, need to check with them.
Located in Bugis, this is will be another good place for Vegetarian Tourist to get some vegetarian or organic products.
Pros: Friendly Staff
