Decent wraps

We got a couple of sourdough wraps. I got a large musella wrap. This promised spicy tofu with mushrooms, green beans and a miso dressing. It was fine, the seasoning on the tofu was quite tasty but not really spicy. The textures of the whole thing were pretty good. The sauce was okay but didn't really wow me at all. The bread was good, nicely crisped on the outside and a good thickness.

My partner got a half sized snowdrop wrap. It was tasty but it had lots of broccoli when she was expecting cauliflower. There were tempeh and mushrooms which were tasty and added good textures. There was some excellent tender melty aubergines. The taste was good too.

These wraps were perfectly fine but they didn't really wow us with the flavours.

Not bad

Large choice of ingredients and everything is customizable. Sauces are quite bland though and some options can be quite oily. I like to create my own salad or wrap for best results. My fave ingredients for a wrap are: cabbage, falafel, roasted mushrooms, pickled red onion, pickled cucumber, carrot with miso, cashew or pesto sauce.

Totally customisable salad bowls/wraps!

I had a great lunch today at Treehouse H Code. It was a little out of the way (the mid levels travelator overshot me!) but when I found it, there was lots of seating. Staff were busy but not pushy and I found myself a menu and was able to order via the self service kiosk. There was a LOT of options and everything is totally customisable!

I had the regular size Musella bowl on half/half salad and grains, with an added tahini sauce. The sauces were served on the side which was great for gradual pouring so everything was doused. I found the tofu portion a bit small especially compared to the rest of the food, but overall the food was very filling! The juices are yummy if slightly expensive for the volume you get.

Recommend if you are looking for a relaxed lunch café with practically unlimited options. Next time I'll be brave enough to try to construct my own bowl!! 🥗

Pretty so so experience

Ordered a salad bowl and waited for 15 minutes
To my surprise, the whole 15 minutes was only putting items into the bowl. The salad is not tossed.
I paid extra for a large bowl that costed $138

I prefer SaladStop! that costs less money and less waiting to have larger portion of salad well tossed and tasty.

Delicious wraps, salads and burgers

Love the food here. It tastes amazing, and sits really well in my stomach so I feel full but never heavy or bloated afterwards. Usually order a long wrap (HKD 100) - Cedar is my favourite one. The flat bread (vegan sourdough) is great, always fresh and tasty ingredients, and perfect sauces to accompany the fillings.

Also really enjoy the burger combos - like the Reef and Tundra burgers. The vegan garlic mayo that accompanies the sweet potato fries is rly yummy!

Tried their special - vegan creme brûlée! Loved it So smooth and creamy with the stunning crunch from the caramelised sugar on top and taste of the banana and hazelnut.

Less keen on the pizza which I tried at another location. It went cold very fast and was not that tasty.

Most items are vegan. It seems like the only non-vegan ingredients are eggs and halloumi.

HKD 100 does feel expensive for a long wrap, but is filling and nourishing, so you won't regret it. My non-vegan husband orders them regularly of his own accord.

Love that they are eco-friendly, using plastic-free packaging (even the cups that look like they are made out of plastic are made out of plants)!

Join their loyalty program if you will visit there frequently!

Treehouse

Went 2 days running. Unfortunately the second time something I am allergic to dropped into my food.... they made me a new one and a couple extras. Luckily I spotted before I ingested.
I did the choose your own salad bowl.
Wanted to order the coconut, vanilla date drink but sold out.
Cakes expensive 5 for a brownie. 4 for bliss ball.

Not table service you order, collect and clear yourself.

Sweet potato fries are the best

We ordered a pizza and a wrap. The pizza was not too hot when served, but the taste was good, so did the wrap. Sweet potato fries is a must that I have to order every time I come here. The fried were thick, crispy outside and soft inside. The fries came with vegan mayo which was super good.

Nutritious

Nice spot. Nutritious ‘fast food’, not super tasty but filling! Quite expensive. Food is served on biodegradable plates/bowls, even for dining in (eco friendly?!).
The juices are amazing!!

Fresh and delicious

Treehouse is a great place to stop for a quick lunch, to go or eating in. Their ingredients are fresh and plentiful in choice. I would say the only con is that the salad bowls in regular size are a bit small, so if you’re not ordering any sides or desserts, go ahead and get the larger size. Bowls and wraps with creative combination choices or make your own. All their desserts are vegan.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Fresh ingredients , Make your own bowls/wraps

Healthy and pleasant

After looking at the review for of this place I had quite high expectations. Unfortunately, I was not too impressed by the pizza. The vegan mozzarella style cheese was nice and the bread quit good but other than that pretty tasteless. However I definitely want to go back here since it has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff and a lot of other interesting items at the menu. Hopefully their bowls and wraps are more impressive. Also I like that everything is healthy, seems to be a perfect everyday lunch or dinner place. Really good chocolate chip cookie!

Always nourishing!

That. Chapati. Style. Wrap. I’d go back for the wrap alone!!! The fillings were ok.

Had two wraps: one with tempeh and aubergine (can’t remember the name) was excellent. One with rocket and vegan cheese wasn’t. Needed much more flavour, substance and cheese.

Got the brownie and cookie too. Would recommend getting the cookie and warming it up! #Veganuary

Pros: All WFPB, so nourishing , A lot of choice

Cons: Vegan cheese wrap needed way more cheese

Flavourful, indulgent, yet wonderfully wholesome and nourishing

As always, the salad toppings are so well crafted, and I’m pleasantly surprised by the corn fritters! The buffalo cauliflower is probably one of my favorite sides in this city, period. Also finally got myself to try the curry— the tempeh was INSANE, and I INHALED the sourdough flatbread.

Special treat of the night- the brand new vegan creme brûlée! Coconut milk custard was so beautifully smooth without being too coco nutty. Crunchy hazelnuts and dried banana was a nice touch.

All in all, fantastic. Highly recommend.

Better than Mana but you pay a bit more for it...

Mana cafe has been around for years. Bobby the owner originally owned two other vegan/ vegetarian cafe before mainly focusing on Mana. As far as I know he was partnered with chef Christopher, the owner of Treehouse. Hence their food has a lot of similarities, as Christopher was the one that probably came up with most of the menu, seasoning and recipes for wraps, salads and desserts.

I don't think they are rivals but equally passionate about the cause of promoting vegan food. Coming back to the food, treehouse has wraps, burgers, salads and desserts but thats where the similarities ends. There are salad with rice bowls, with fermented kimchi, pickles, and other health superfood ingredients thats why Treehouse is slightly pricier and also tastes better than Mana as well. After all the owner is a well trained French chef.

For more upmarket vegan with a few vegetarian options cafe experience go to Treehouse.
Also notable they have digit kiosk for fast no human no queue ordering in cafe or on their website as well.

Pros: Fermented superfood choices, Tasty dessert, Fast ordering

Cons: Average size are small portion, 60 lunch option is the cheapest and no satisfied

The more the merrier, more veg options but with a $$ price tag

It is a nice addition to the plant dish scene, and definitely more targeted to IFC/ Central/ Soho/ Expat crowd. The price reflects it. The original chef and co-founder of Mana (he left and first opened HOME, which closed and this is his second restaurant) Christian's Treehouse has great food, also geared towards more take away, and with two more delivery only location opened in Wan Chai and Quarry bay, it is set to take over? Mana for plant based restaurant.

When you can spare $128 at a minimum, you will get grain/ salad bowl, which has a lot of great choices in there. I would say much better than Mana salad choice. Although non Soho/ expat crowd tends to complain about the price vs getting full from the grain/ salad bowl. Price for wraps is slightly more expensive than Mana's wrap $50 vs $60. I would say the seating at Treehouse is much better, more light, and brighter vibe.

The price has really stopped me from going there. Only at times when I feel like something different and will take advantage of their lovely high ceiling space, I would visit.

So the food, location and vibe has no fault, but the price tag is the only thing that makes me give this a 4 out of 5 star.

For everyday dining, I would go to Mana, but for something different, when I have more budget, I would go to Treehouse.

Pros: Fermented food, Variety, Good vibe and seating

Cons: Price, Price, Price

Love the flavours and variety of the salads and wraps. But it’s a shame that everything is served in disposable bowls and plates. Not eco friendly.

Customisable meals

Almost exactly the same as Mana. Nearly all the ingredients have the same soft texture, which leaves you craving something crunchy or chewy at the end. A bit overpriced. Nice venue.

Delicious falafel shortbread

One of my favorite lunch places in Central. Great vibe and delicious falafel shortbread wrap (willow wrap). I can’t quite finish one and feel peckish with a half so I get one whole and save the other half for an afternoon snack.

Pros: Spacious seating for Central, Great vibe, Delicious falafel

Amazing food

I had been ordering their wraps via Deliveroo for some time and really enjoyed them. I came to the actual restaurant for the first time, and wasn’t disappointed. The restaurant has a casual and welcoming ambience, with plenty of seating. I tried one of the bowls, which was fantastic. Most items are either vegan or can be easily made vegan.
