Yum!

Appreciated the they clearly marked which broths were vegan (3!), they offer tofu and plenty of veggies. Build my own bowl was $21 but I was very full after finishing the togo portion.

Pros: Fresh veggies, Vegan options labeled , Vegan protein offered

Well balanced and delicious

Would give 5 stars if we could! First time in a while we all finished a full bowl of ramen down to the last drop. Great options and lots of choice not only for vegan/vegetarians but for all 😁

Vegan broth!

Very surprised to have found vegan miso broth. It's open super late on weekends (3 a.m.), and the staff is very friendly. The bowls come packed with veggies, and the ramen tasted delicious (although disclaimer that I was car lagged and had been out drinking). It's not fancy, but the food was pretty awesome. I also liked that they had glasses if you don't want to use disposable cups.

Pros: Vegan miso, Friendly Staff

Only such option in the area

I finally got my husband to eat here. We each had a different bowl, he had the vegan one (I forget the exact name), and I built my own with miso broth (vegan), rice noodles, tofu and some veggies. All bowls are topped with bean sprouts, nori, shallots. Although I agree with other reviews that the flavor is mild, they have a condiment bar that allows you to make it as spicy as you want. Love it and will definitely come back to try another version of the bowl.

Pros: Lots of options to customize your bowl , Low key

Versatile options; needs more spice

I'm so pleased that Umami is open in downtown Bangor. They are a noodle bar, and you can basically customize your bowl with your choice of broth, noodles, and toppings. For protein, they have tofu and portobello mushrooms, and they have a diverse variety of veggies that you can add to the bowls. My only wish (and this is probably just a personal quirk) is that they have a bit more heat/spice/flavor in the base broth. After visiting several times, I finally realized that I need to make ample use of their seasonings bar in order to attain the right spice level. If you like a bit more spice, I recommend doing the same thing. It would also be great to have the option to add extra noodles to the bowl.

Pros: Open late!, Customize bowls with your favorite ingredients

Cons: not spicy/flavorful enough (for me, anyway)

love it here!

I love this place! The atmosphere is very relaxing and nice. The staff are super kind, helpful and knowledgable about what is and isnt vegan! Lots of seating and this place is not only great for ramen but at night it has a bar on the opposing end with a pool table and great night life! My only issue is that the portions are very small. I asked for cabbage for an extra $1 charge and only had two small pieces of cabbage in all of the ramen.

Delicious Vegan Food!

The decor is rather humble, fast food style benches, but the food is great. You can build soups like you would build a burrito at Chipotle. The veggie broth is very flavorful, they have multiple veg options (tofu, portabella, and lots of add-ons---the shitake is fantastic). There is also a premade Vegan Bowl on the menu as well as a couple of veggie appetizers (scallion pancakes, edamame). There are also lots of fun sauces at the sauce bar to add on. Very flavorful, hearty meal. Will eat again.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, friendly staff, vegan word

Cons: Casual seating is a bit stiff.
