Great place, delicious food, be prepared to wait ! - Edit
Amazing vegan ramen and appetisers (we shared the soy croquettes), full of amazing flavours and not as greasy as all vegan gluten free food we usually find, we were really glad to eat there. However with the non-reservation system be prepared to wait for over an hour ! (We did not regret but it was long and the waiting area is crazy hot)

Hot Ramen: yay – cold ramen: nay! - Edit
We got the soy milk ramen “Hana” which was tasty.
Read moreAlso got the summer special with cold ramen. I imagined something like a Glass noodle salad. And as we wondered, why the cold noodles take longer than the hot noodles: the summer ramen was literally ramen noodles with ice cubes. Some ingredients were still half frozen as well (avocado, pineapple). Not at all what I expected. Wouldn’t recommend it.
If you fill out an allergy survey you get a free little pudding, which is a nice gimmick.
They also got the vending machine with mainly frozen pastries outside the store.
All in all, I probably wouldn’t come back. There are other places we have to try first.😄
Cons: Summer ramen

Delicious ramen and gyoza - Edit
The soy milk ramen was amazing, so flavourful and creamy with so many delicious toppings including tasty gyoza. The matcha ice cream for dessert was wonderful and presented in a cute hedgehog dish.

Delicious Vegan Ramen - Edit
This place serves delicious ramen variants and as few other things. Ramen is very good. The soy milk base create a thick round taste, and It's not very salty. It has interesting toppings and optional free spices at every table.
Read moreStaff was very kind and talkative if you want. They always smile. For me, That's a great joy as a visitor. They speak english well enough to have a conversation. They also came around to refill our water. Essential!
A bit pricy, but i have noticed Kyoto is in general more expensive than Tokyo, so It's not more expensive that other restaurants in the city.
Pros: Taste, Staff, Atmosphere
Cons: Chopsticks, a bit slippery

Something a bit different - Edit
We almost removed this place from our Kyoto wishlist because we thought the ramens didn't sound too exciting. I'm glad we gave it a try though, because mine was delicious! We were there on a Saturday lunchtime and there was no wait for a table, it was fairly quiet. We had to access the menu and order via a QR code (there's a password available for the wifi), and service was very quick after that.
Read moreI had the soy milk dandan noodle gekka. The broth was creamy from the milk, as expected, and the chilli oil gave it a lovely warm hit and depth of flavour that developed throughout the meal. The noodles were good. The menu said there were 15 vegetables in the dish. To be honest, that's a few too many for me, though I did enjoy some, particularly the beetroot crisp. However, there were a lot of some kind of green stalk that was a bit too tough for my liking and not very enjoyable to eat. Besides that, I was very happy.
My partner had the soy milk ramen yuki zuki, because the menu said it included some Kyoto specialities. He found the broth pleasant but a bit bland, and relied on the seasonings provided on the table to balance it out. He thought the addition of a rice cake sounded fun in theory, but was actually a little difficult to eat in practice, and the large chunk of radish was difficult to deal with too. He liked the mince for texture and taste, and the bamboo. It wasn't one of his favourite ramens of our trip to Japan, but it was fine.
For dessert, we both got the creme brulee. The top was beautifully caramelised and it was nicely sweet and flavoured with vanilla. Unfortunately though, the texture was more like a custard, it hadn't set. We may just have been unlucky.
All in all, we enjoyed ourselves in this spot. I'd give my ramen five stars, but factoring in the other two dishes, I'm going for a 4 overall.

Tomato dumplings 🍅🥟 the real deal! - Edit
Uni Yukiko’s menu is varied and interesting. I opted for the tomato 🍅 dumplings 🥟 which did not disappoint though I asked for soy sauce to make the flavours even better. A great ambiance. By the time I left, there were around 20 people waiting to come in.
Read moreI dined here again twice after writing this review, and again, the food was fantastic and there were people outside waiting to come in. Highly recommended!

Great ramen with a spin - Edit
Having read that it’s difficult to find a place, we went there just before the opening at 11 am and we were lucky to find a spot (other people were also waiting) – I tried the ramen and was blown away, they were exceptionally good, even though the broth was different from what I’d had before (creamy and rich). The place is nice and the owner was lovely – if you want to visit but you don’t want to stand in a long line, I think that lunch is probably better than dinner.

Best meal in Kyoto - Edit
I was hesitant to try it because I'm not a big fan of creamy ramen but this place offers so many more options. The rice was one of the best things I've tried in Japan, the soy croquettes could use a dipping sauce but the texture was nice and crispy, the creme brulee was definitely unique. I wish I had visited this restaurant before my last day!

Deliciously Different - Edit
As a vegan I ate a lot of ramen in Japan. This was a bit different than the traditional bowl. They had different kinds of spices to add for every flavor profile and the soy meat dumplings were amazing.

Nice but not worth the hype - Edit
This place is really nice and I enjoyed the ramen but it was definitely not the best ramen I had in Japan as other reviewers are saying.
Read moreI did go twice, having the regular soy ramen and the chilli one and I wouldn’t say there was much difference. I’d just get the cheaper one if I were you.
