An Excellent and Very Healthy Surprise in the Middle of London - Edit
We popped in here a bit by accident on Christmas Eve. The restaurant is a lovely respite from the chaotic streets outside. It is quiet and charming. We had the kimchee salad, Tom Yum soup, Dragon Roll and a noodle bowl. All of these were fresh (more than fresh!) and very healthy. All dishes are organic and use whole versions of grains, so for example, the sushi uses brown rice, and noodles are made with whole versions of grains. We found it all to be very inspired and welcoming. I can imagine the regular devotees of the restaurant love to easily get delicious and healthy food in the midst of the junk food and fast food all around the area. BTW my photos don't do justice to the lovely food - it is a bit dark in the restaurant for good quality photos.

Delicious food and excellent location - Edit
Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is located in a spacey environment downstairs.

Delicious healthy food - Edit
A very cosy basement restaurant with an extensive drinks list (including lots of non-alcoholic teas, drinks and juices). There are no fried or pungent dishes here so if you are after junk food then this isn't the place. I really enjoyed the buckwheat crackers and Suan La Fen noodles. It's just around the corner from that massive M&Ms store near Leicester Square, but it's very quiet and chilled.

Green Haven beneath the crowded streets - Edit
We went here for dinner before going to a musical show. Deswpite the busy street the restaurant is quiet and a welcome change.
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised because some of the photos on here are not that appealing. The mantra of this restaurant is ambitious and is matches in execution. The food was delicious and despite not aiming for it we went for a dessert and were happy to do so.
The only thing on the negative side: we sometimes had to wait a fair amount of time even if one takes in consideration it was a Saturday night.
Still we’d come back and eat here again
Cons: Waiting times

Disappointing - Edit
No waiting line, so I should have known. Very expensive, staff speaks little English and nothing special. The ‘satay’ lacked taste but swam in oil. The smoothie was more of a coloured coconut milk. Very little number of guests.

Beides komplett ohne irgendein guten Geschmack.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime - booked, but needn't have done as there was lots of space. Good, quick and friendly service and absolutely fantastic food.

Simply delicious - Edit
Reportedly the oldest organic vegan restaurant in Europe. A bohemian, and mildly traditional atmosphere. The food's deliciously spiced, and uniquely prepared. I love it.

Good vegan food, affordable for London - Edit
Good assian-inspired simple vegan food.
Read moreRelatively affordable for London.
OK ambiance (at the basement level) with no windows.
Tea is brewed well, but serving size too small (a cup). A tea pot size is expected for a sit-down restaurant.
Pros: Simple food, not fried
Cons: Basement level, Tea serving size too small.

Pros: Nettes Ambiente, Keine Reservierung notwendig, Besonderes Essen
Cons: Zur Öffnung nicht bereit

Hidden gem - Edit
You'll easily walk past Vantra as it's just a doorway leading into a basement. It was super cosy with lovely staff. I have great faith visiting a china town restaurant where the chef has been vegan for 25 years.
Read moreThe food is amazing. I don't know what magic they did to my side salad. I'm usually not a salad person but they could have served me a wheelbarrows worth of that salad and I would have continued eating it!
Worth multiple visits as the menu is do big.

It was nice - Edit
We went here just for a small bite. We had soup with miso, mushrooms and seaweed. It was nice. We also shared rice rolls. It was not exactly what we expected. It was with a lot of sauce. The rolls weren't that special but ok.

One of my favorite vegan spots in London. They have an amazing selection and everything is so delicious. It’s also super conveniently located in the theatre district. The food is healthy and nourishing and filling. The staff is lovely.

Disappointing - Edit
This is my first negative review of a vegan restaurant and a rare negative review from me in general. The staff would not allow a simple modification to my order and the meal was mediocre. The appetizer was not good. I left hungry. My dinner partner said their food smelled terrible and ended up not eating it. I would not return.
Read moreI would have given an extra star if the wait staff were polite or friendly but they treated us like an inconvenience.

Very tasty laksa - Edit
I went in on my own Wednesday lunchtime, just after 12.
Read moreI waited a while to order due to an indecisive group on another table but once I had the laksa came really quickly (I think the waiter could tell I wasn't keen sitting around waiting on my own) and it's perhaps the best laksa I ever ate although there were no chickpeas in it like the menu said (and tofu etc cost extra).

Pros: Very tasty food, Good location, It came quickly
Cons: Waited a while to order, Dark basements are not my thing on a sunny day, 12.5% service charge I didn't see on the menu

Vantra is a basement classy spot that seems to specialize in Asian inspired dishes with an Indian cuisine slant. I had their small apps like the buckwheat cracker and Soy Satay. Everything was great

A delight for a vegan - Edit
The sign outside, describes it as a vegan delight and it really is. I have the magical mushrooms with mashed potato, along with a body & mind juice. Freshly made, well seasoned and tasty.

Fine if you’re vegan, not great for introducing omnis to vegan food - Edit
This was a basement restaurant in a great location. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy. Probably better for evening than lunch. The Omnis I was with had trouble finding something appealing. Food was healthy though!

Not that exciting - Edit
The service was alright, but the food didn't live up to the reviews. Not many vegetables for a place that's supposed to be focused on health and the taste just wasn't it. Could've done with either more seasoning or more veggies and focusing on the ingredients' raw taste.
Read moreThe portion sizes were alright for the price, but I really would choose something else if I was in the area again.

Good food, but long waiting time & dark mood - Edit
We asked at the beginning that we only have about an hour for dinner, if that‘s okay for dinner or if it takes longer to prepare the dishes. The waiter ensured us that all dishes can be ready in about 15 minutes, in the end we ended up waiting for almost 45 minutes. The food was good, but by that point we sadly didn‘t get to enjoy it as much anymore. Also the restaurant is in a basement with no windows, it might be cozy at night but felt a bit uneasy while it was still bright outside.
