Excellent vegan Thai - Edit
Everything we chose was delicious. Ginger sauce edamame, Tom sum soup with soy chicken, fried tofu massa mam! Too much food for 2 at lunch, so we brought the rest home. Always delighted to find wonderful vegan.

all vegan thai food in San Diego - Edit
One of the best vegan restaurants I have been to in awhile. I am a big fan of Thai food. I am a longtime vegan of 25 years so thrilled to dine at an all vegan thai spot. I opted for the massaman curry. Plentiful portion size and reasonably priced. Flavorful.
Read moreMy server said the curry has a range beginning at three up to 10 for spiciness. I opted for a five aka medium spicy and found this to be a good amount of heat yet not overboard. I opted to get some hot sauces on the side.
Simple yet sufficient ambiance.
Recommended!
Pros: all vegan thai food, plentiful portions, tasty

Delicious food, easy vibes - Edit
Delicious food! The flavors hit home and authentic. The spice range of 1 to 10 means everyone is happy (even a 7 wasn't burning your mouth but just very well balanced). The Massaman Curry and Drunken Noodles were amazing. The pineapple cake was good but not extraordinary.
Read moreQuick and friendly service, good prices, large portions, plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor too, and queer friendly vibes.

Great food, friendly service - Edit
The food was excellent! We started with summer rolls, which came with two tasty sauces. We then shared Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. Everything was great and I was much too full for dessert. In fact, we had leftovers. I would definitely return!

I had the Panang Curry for the first time. The vegetables were very fresh. Today, I will try a different curry 🍛, but I won't compare them because they are different.
I like this restaurant because they have freshly cut ingredients.

Good food but doesn’t meet the menu’s description - Edit
Food was good but the portion sizes were not as pictured. The 3 Flavors Fish didn’t have any fish flavors but it was good. The pot stickers were not steamed as written on their menu, they were deep fried. The service could have been better. Ambience was okay. Overall, found the food a little pricey and although good food, it didn’t meet our expectations from the menu.

Great flavours - Edit
We shared the tofu larb and the duck curry. The flavours were really amazing, we asked for spice level 5 out of 10, but for us it wasn’t that spicy. It didn’t detract from the great taste and excellent cooking. Good portions, too, we were very full after what we ate

My test for a good Thai restaurant is always the Tom Kha coconut soup. Well, Veganic Thai Cafe passed with flying flavors. It had the perfect balance of flavors. I'll be eating here a lot?!

Decent Thai - Edit
Veganic is decent overall. As an all-vegan spot, I admittedly give them some benefit of the doubt. For context, I don’t usually go out of my way to eat here, but most of the dishes I have tried were good. The only thing I would say I didn’t like was their Pad Thai, which was pretty sweet and did not “hit the spot” like I hoped. From previous visits, I remember liking their fried rice and curry. Overall, the menu is large and worth a visit checking out on your own if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best veg Thai in San Diego.

I wanted to like it - Edit
I would certainly eat here from time to time if I lived here, but if you only have 48 hours in San Diego I wouldn’t go here.
Read moreThe som tum was particularly odd—possibly this is a dish that fundamentally doesn’t work without fish sauce, since I’ve had another very odd version (sweet but no umami) at another vegan Thai spot. However, the panang curry wasn’t quite right either.

Curry is good. The rest is not so good. - Edit
We came here a couple’s years ago and got a couple curries. We loved it so much we went back twice in one trip to San Diego! We were so excited to go back this trip, but it was a major let down. The main takeaway here is - go for the curry, nothing else.
Read moreWe’ve tried the red curry, green curry, panang curry, cream cheese wontons, pad see ew, and pad thai.
The curries are delicious. They are what you expect them to be and are pretty consistent with other Thai eateries.
The wontons are okay. We’d give them 3 stars. They taste like they are fried in old oil and the corn and avocado is a little weird but overall they are edible.
The pad thai is atrociously sweet and not at all what it should taste like. We didn’t technically order this…It was a kitchen error, but we wouldn’t order it again.
The pad see ew is seasoned weird. The sauce is traditionally supposed to be a sweet soy, but there wasn’t any of that coming through in this dish. It’s almost like they’re trying to make it taste like beef and it was really grainy in texture. It wasn’t good. We wouldn’t order it again.
Pros: Curry is good
Cons: Too sweet, Not authentic

I really enjoyed my stir fry in this LGBTQ friendly space. The tempura however had a batter that was too thick to really be authentic.
