Opened here in 2015, this casual restaurant serves vegan versions of Tex-Mex food. Offers choices like mushroom chicharron tacos, pozole, taquitos, nachos, cupcakes, rice and beans. Its other location at the Viva Book Complex had shut and merged with this one. Dog friendly. Open Wed 11:00am-5:00pm, Thu-Sat 11:00am-8:00pm, Sun 11:00am-5:00pm.

Best Veggie Mexican Food - Edit
Love coming here! It is hard to find Mex food that is veggie friendly in SA. It is a must to start with a fresh Agua Fresca- obsessed with watermelon. The nachos and tacos are flavorful and filling. I plan to try everything on menu in time:)

They seem to have closed but the website is still up. Such a bummer as the menu looks great. Parking lot is chained closed during opening hours listed on their website. No voice-mail when I called to check on hours.

The service was excellent. The food was a great value. The tacos were really well done. The nachos were decent and HUGE! The cheese on the nachos were the only gripe. It tasted more like a butternut squash puree. The aqua Fresca was delicious. Rice and beans yummy and authentic. Overall great stop.

The Best Mexican Vegan Food - Edit
My husband and I try to eat here any time we are in San Antonio. The food here is always fresh and delicious, and everything on the menu is vegan and gluten free. Over the years we have tried several dishes. Most recently we had the mole poblano and crispy cauliflower tacos. Both dishes were based on cauliflower chunks that had a very thin but super crispy battered shell and were cooked to perfection- not too crunchy and not too soft. The sauces on both dishes were spicy and rich, and both meals came out hot. Each plate included a bit of salad, some rice, and the tastiest pinto beans ever. You can tell that everything was made to order using fresh ingredients. This continues to be our #1 go-to place in SA.

Read moreI've brought non vegans there and they loved it. My favorites are fried avocado tacos and nachos (you can split a half order with someone, they are huge). My least favorite are the chick'n flautas, they are a bit dry, but good with sauce. Basically everything is good so you really can't go wrong.
Oh and the charro beans are delicious!

Everything at Viva Vegeria was amazing! The murals/paintings inside were gorgeous and made for such a bright atmosphere. Our server was so kind and helpful. The portions were HUGE for a super reasonable price! Everything tasted absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend it enough.

We ordered the single chalupa and the fried mushroom tacos. It came with tasty beans and rice. I went here as my fiend loves Tex-Mex flavors and I came away a fan. It is fresh, flavorful and will not disappoint.

It was my first time here and I’ll definitely be back soon. We got the nachos and the portion was huge! It was super good and well worth the price. The aguas frescas was also delicious, I was super happy to see that had watermelon 😁 wish it was closer to me but I don’t mind making the drive!
