Love me some Wabi Sabi!

Ticked away in a corner of Cinema Square, by Little Tokyo, Wabi Sabi is one of our regular haunts in Manila. It has a variety of tasty and inexpensive vegetarian and vegan options. They mostly serve Asian noodle soups (ramens & pho)--for which you can order extra tofu--and they also have a vegan banh mi sandwich and a few appetizers. The food is clearly labeled as vegetarian or vegan. My favorite part is dessert though, offering a variety of delicious Kakigōri.

Pros: Lots of inexpensive options, Vegan Kakigōri, Friendly staff and layoff back atmosphere

OG Mall

Located in probably one of the oldest shopping centres in Manila the food here will not disappoint.

It’s not all vegan but the staff will happily advise what is, what isn’t and what can be modified.

As far as ramen outside of Japan goes this is pretty good. Lacking some depth in flavour the Tantan is still something I would happily order again.

The shaved ice, kakigōri, are something you don’t find in many places, especially as a vegan and are worth a visit on their own.

Delicious noodles and drinks

Everything we tried on the menu was delicious. The cold brew, matcha lattes can be made with soy milk and are delicious. The tantanmen ramen was the standout. Cash only, there are ATMs nearby.

Many vegan options

I went to the one on Thomas Morato Ave (Quezon City). Great veg East Asian fusion food. I personally am not a super fan of the desserts. Prices are moderate. Almost everything on the menu can be veganized.

Vegan kakigori!

The sesame ramen, banh mi, and okonomigyoza were all flavorful, but the highlight for me was the dessert given I'd never tried vegan kakigori before. It was really good! The ice cream was more icey than creamy, but the dessert with the syrup and chewy glutinous rice balls was really yummy. We tried ube and a matcha one.

The restaurant is popular and therefore really busy. I really felt for the servers as there were only 2 of them, so at times there was a bit of a wait. Overall though, worth the visit.

best vegan ramennn

ordered the shoyu ramen, tantanmen ramen, okonomigyoza, tonyu ramen, wicho bicho (has dairy), and mango okinawa and everything was sooo good

the whole menu is vegan/veganizable expect for the sweetcorn & cream cheese tempura which us vegetarian

can't say too much about the ramen, gyoza, and wicho bicho, since i don't have those too often, but the kakigori (mango okinawa) was sooooo good!! the the ice was so fluffy and softtt so creamy and not too sweet. tho the mango was a bit overipe but ugh still sooo good

in addition to the offered dishes, they also sell chicharron and vegan patis (fish sauce)

the servers were also really nice and attentive, had absolutely no issues with the service.

the interior was pretty small but cozy. there's much more space and tables outside

i noticed that they did a lott of deliveries so i do hope that they switch to eco-friendly packaging and utensils to reduce their waste

would also recommend some music for vibes:DD

would def be backkkkk

Best vegan Japanese restaurant I’ve tried in Metro Manila

I really enjoyed their ramen, gyozas, mushroom harumaki, and shaved ice. They’re all good in their own right without having to be compared to their non vegan counterparts.

Good value for your money as well.

Highly recommend for those who have non vegan family who like Japanese food.😄

For Ramen Cravings

Tried their signature Ramen and it was fine,Will try shoyu ramen some time. Gyoza is delicious though, while spring rolls are just alright. When we went there, some of the menus are unavailable.

Pros: Everything is vegan

Cons: Small space

Tried EVERYTHING on the menu

Everything is vegetarian, MOST of their stuff is vegan, so ehen you order, just double check with the server and they'll tell you if it comes with egg or not. Over a week-long stay a block away, I tried everything on their menu (literally), and all of their Ramen bowls are good, but I'm partial to the Tantanmen Sesame Ramen and the WabiSabi Bowl, which is soymilk based).

Pros: No meat in their kitchen, Everything is delicious

Cons: Service without the hint of a smile

Good but unclear menu

I had lunch here and ordered some ramen with gyozas. The ramen were ok and the gyozas really delicious. There was mock meat in the ramen, which I don’t really appreciate, and probably an egg. The menu is not explained and vegan option are not labelled which makes is difficult to choose your dishes. Ask the staff to make sure your order is vegan.

Pros: Affordable, Delicious gyozas

Cons: Unclear menu, Not fully vegan

Food is good. But not fully vegan.

Be careful! Ask twice if your order is vegan. I ordered 2 shio ramens and I doubt there were vegan. I am pretty sure eggs were in there. But these days, we can copy whatever we want with plant-based products. Apart from that, the noodle soup was really good. Special mention to the kyosa. Stunning.

Pros: Affordable , Tasteful

Cons: Not fully vegan

A quaint little place for vegan Japanese food

I was looking forward to coming here and my experience didn't let me down. The food was very nice to eat, the serving size was good and the menu was not badly priced. I will be returning again.

Pros: Menu was mostly vegan, atmosphere was cosy.

Cons: No description of dishes; staff needs to explain.

Amazing Food

This is my favorite vegan ramen place in Manila. You're lucky to find a ramen place here that even has a vegan broth and this place has like 6 different options. The pho and the tantanmen ramen are delicious. As well as their mushroom asda, summer roll, mushroom dumplings, and green tea.

Pros: Delicious Food, Cheap

Cons: Cash Only

Heaven on earth....

A small but amazing ramen house, the food is out of this world. You MUST try their tantanmen ramen, it's the best ramen in Manila, Asia, the world and maybe in the whole universe...

Oh so good vegan Japanese

I had the Tantanmen, Okonomi Gyoza and Lemongrass Iced Tea and all my orders were delish! I even had another round of the gyoza. When I looked at the tantanmen, I thought I wouldn't finish it but I did since it was really yummy. The restaurant looks like a hole in the wall place wherein menu is written on the chalkboard. The servers are chill and you can see what they're cooking especially when you seat at the counter. I love it here and definitely would go back. They have vegan desserts with their sister restaurant called Ikagi Kakigori just beside it.

Pros: excellent food, good portion for 1, nice vibe

Cons: pricey

Nice 'Japanese' Option

The food here is fairly reasonable, if a tad expensive for the portions. 'Extra greens' - for 35 PhP - is literally two tiny sprigs of baby bok choy, so not really worth it. I've had the gyoza, ramen and 'Viet pho' (70 PhP for three pieces, 180 PhP and 150 PhP respectively), with the latter my favourite so far. Portions are a little small, and more than one dish may be required.

Best Noodles In Manila!!

Absolutely loved this place. What a great find in Manila! very reasonably priced, delicious vegan noodles.
It's primarily vegetarian but the staff fully understand vegan and will make you something suitable.
We had Ramón noodles with tofu, soya protein and mushrooms. They have various Chili sauces and other condiments on the table so you can make your dish as spicy as you like, which was great.

Wabi-Sabi is Housed inside a building called the collective which is also home to other restaurants and bars,
a small music venue and a few other small shops, selling guitars, skate boards etc, the whole place has a very student vibe.
I was in Manila for 3 days and tried all sorts of vegan restaurants. Wabi-Sabi has to be one of the meals I enjoyed the most.
We visited on a Saturday, had they been open Sunday's we would most likely have visited again.
Apart from a wide choice of noodle dishes they sell a vegan sandwich, which we wanted to try but were too full after our noodles! Another customer we got chatting too described it as a vegan subway sandwich. Which I felt was a good description, as it looked very much like that in a French baguette style bread. Bursting with soya fillings.

Service was good and very fast. Most evenings the collective (which is the large building that wabi-sabi is in, has gigs with loud Rock music playing. If your not a fan of loud music is recommended going during the day.
Staff very helpful, polite Can't wait to go again.

Wabi-Sabi have two locations. I went to the central Manila branch: Address -
The Collective, 7274, Malugay, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
+63 2 519 3950

The staff told me the other location is slightly out of town.

Pros: Delicious Vegan Noodles, Polite and friendly staff, Nice atmosphere
