A bit on the bland side - Edit
This cafe is at Christchurch’s Buddhist temple on Riccarton Rd. It’s a lovely setting and there are lots of vegan options available. Some items are really nice like the coriander pancake and the nuggets, others are a bit bland (like the laksa) -and/or use a lot of fake meat (like the fried noodles) that I’m not much of a fan of. Definitely worth visiting though because your tastes may be quite different to mine.

Best vegetarian cafe in Christchurch - Edit
I've been here twice and both times have been an amazing experience. The staff are very friendly and the service is superb. The temple is kept very clean and there is a place to pray upstairs and a new art gallery has opened as well. I also liked the aesthetic very much.

Lovely Laksa for lunch - Edit
I had a lovely and peaceful solo lunch here. I ordered the laksa($20)and a coconut slice ($4)both were delicious. The Laksa was tasty with veggies, noodles, tofu and mock bbq pork.

Cute cafe but food very bland and greasy - Edit
Really sweet peaceful cafe, unfortunately when we went there were very few vegan options. We got a slice of blueberry cheesecake which was OK but pretty tasteless, and some fried tofu skin which was literally dripping with frier oil as if it hadn't been drained. The tofu may have been nice if it was crispy, but we couldn't finish it because of the crazy amount of oil. Coffee was nice.

Expensive and small portions - Edit
The food is nice but the price is quite high considering the size of the portions. There are better restaurants in the area serving this style of cuisine but with better value for money.

Not your typical Buddhist food - Edit
You might expect lentils and rice, or some kind of tofu stirfry called "Buddha Delight", but that's not this place. There are many deep fried items, modern mock meats, and rich deserts like bounty bars.

Good lunch spot - Edit
There are a variety of options here and the portions are generous. The food is tasty as well and the cafe is situated in a lovely Buddhist temple. Only criticism is that I’d love to see pictures of the food on the menu and more descriptions, because it’s difficult to choose what to eat when you don’t really know what you’re in for.

Amazing food and venue - Edit
The food was amazing, we had the daily special and fillet both vegan (very easy to see what's vegan, plenty of options, everything else is vegetarian). Quite a few dessert options also.

I can't believe it's vegan! - Edit
Amazing! My boyfriend and I shared the pan fried dumplings (filled with veges like bok choy and ginger), BBQ steamed "pork" buns, and the frier noodles. All vegan. The noodles were served with a combination of veges, tofu and mock meats (the mock BBQ pork was the best).

BUddhist Temple - Edit
I really liked this place. It is located inside the BUddhist Temple in Riccarton but itt gets quite a good buisness and the food is very tasty. The atmosphere is the best of almost any vegetarian restaurant I've reviewed so far and vegans, like myself, are very catered to.
