Lied about animal based cheese - Edit
This women lied 3 times straight to my face that the cheese on my plate was vegan. I've been vegan long enough to now vegan cheese isn't that stretchy or creamy.
Read moreHalfway preparation I told them I forgot to order the dish vegan-style. They would adjust it. But appeared they never did. And kept lying about it.
My Spanish friend who has been working in restaurants for many years says those kind of things happen a lot in Spain. So be careful :)

There are a lot vegan options (even the desserts)! We had paella, mexican rolls & a tiramisu, everything was really tasty! We also got salad, a small starter and tea for free.

Very cute veggie place. - Edit
Everything was very cozy and small, feels like a hidden gem. Menu is in English but the staff doesn't speak it well. The food is authentic and delicious. Prices are very okay. There was a free appetizer in the beginning and tea at the end of the meal. Very cute and cozy atmosphere.

Nice cafe - Edit
Much more of a cafe feel compared to a restaurant. The staff didn’t speak English, but we got by. The menu had English side. Plenty of options, most of which could be veganised. I had the spaghetti with meatballs, which was very nice. They also brought out a complimentary appetiser. Nice people. Would go back because it’s not just about burgers and fries here. Loads of alternatives. #Veganuary

Delicious, homemade food - Edit
My husband and I happened to be around the corner from this place, and then it came up on Happy Cow. We went in on a Friday night without a reservation and it wasn’t a problem. Everything that can be made vegan is clearly marked on the menu, including several desserts. We loved the eggplant appetizer. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Finally something that isn't a burger place - Edit
I have been here a couple times. Given that almost all vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Madrid are burger places, this place really stands out. Vegan option are plentiful and clearly marked. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. And finally, the food is very tasty. The paella is delicious. The place is pretty small, so it makes sense to make a reservation. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is I don't understand why it's not 100% vegan.

Fantastic Food no Thrills experience - Edit
Fantastic vegetarian menu with tons of choice and brilliant quality food. Super delicious dishes though the experience is very much a cantina experience. Not a negative, just setting your expectations. Lovely lady than runs the place too!

The pasta was alright, nothing too fancy but still a good meal.
I'd recommend getting the vegan tiramisu! Super duper nice!
Free tea afterwards, the lady (I think the owner) was really friendly but doesn't speak English, great little place to eat.
Pros: Vegan options clearly stated. , Got free tea from the nice lady! , Original recipes and everything is affordable!

Creative and satisfying dishes - Edit
A great place to stop after a visit to Plaza Mayor, Yerbabuena serves up four courses including two beverages (beer included) for just 15 Euros. The dishes were not only tasty and satisfying, but they were also served with artistic flair. A perfect place for a Madrid lunch.

Best value in town - Edit
The menu of the day fantastic. An aperatif, two huge plates, a dessert and a drink for €15! The food is tasty albeit some of the flavour combos are unusual (pesto on a Mexican dish etc.) but overall amazing. If getting the daily menu, make sure to arrived hungry!
