Tasty food, casual comfortable atmosphere - Edit
I'm so pleased to have read the reviews as I felt quite shy going in, having no idea what to order!

So was handy knowing I could order the vegetable bun, the tofu Pak choi dumplings....got them fried for £1.50 extra - so good!!! 12 dumpling per portion!!!!
And we shared a vegetable noodle whic was in a broth. And was extremely tasty.
I got used to knowing what I liked to add the flavour with the condiments on the table - soy sauce, vinegar, chilli oil and garlic.
They prefer cash but accept card.
You go to the till and pay at the end of your meal.
I really loved it, it was a treat, and I would never have gone in without seeing the reviews so thanks to everyone for leaving tips!

We had some delicious dumplings to a low price. Highly recommend a visit😄we didn’t find that the dishes were spicy, so I would recommend asking for more spice if you like it that way

This is a gem of a place ✨ The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is great. Vegan options aren't specifically labelled so do ask staff if you are unsure. Honey in the drinks is something to be careful of.

Went for dinner for the first time, we had the vegetable bao buns and two types of fried dumplings (the mushroom/pak choi /tofu ones which were absolutely amazing the aubergine ones which were okay but not as tasty)

Vegan dishes aren’t marked on the menu so you should ask staff, but everyone was very nice and the food is just so good, we will be back very soon!

You can't put much of a foot wrong with Zhonghua- the dumplings are incredible and the portions are large and great for sharing.

This was recommended as the best place in Cambridge for Chinese dumplings and we were really impressed with the choice for vegans! There was a clear vegan list in the menu, we ordered a selection of tofu and vegetable dumplings and all were delicious. We also ordered the hot soup which was very filling and the veg steamed bun (which we were fairly sure was vegan friendly).

Read moreHeard that this place has good dumplings. So, I finally got the chance to get some takeaway from here when I was in the area. The place is quaint with tables arranged quite close together. So, probably not the best to go with a big group. It was packed when I was there. The staff were helpful. I had the cold-dressed hot and sour vermicelli, eggplant & paprika dumplings and tofu & celery dumplings. The dumplings were good, I did think the skins were a bit too mushy (it could be that it got soggy because I had it to takeaway). I didn’t quite enjoy the eggplant & paprika dumpling because of the bitter aftertaste I got. The hot and sour vermicelli was thick, chewy and spicy. I loved that they topped it with some pak choi and carrots to add some crunch.
Overall, cheap and pretty good dumplings and noodles! It might’ve been better had I not had the food to takeaway, so I definitely hope to dine in next time.

Cambridge institution! - Edit
I can't believe this place hasn't been rated yet - it's a Cambridge institution! Don't expect anything too fancy, it's a bit rough around the edges but there's a fantastic selection of delicious vegan options including dumplings (which you can have fried or steamed) and sides. I'm a big fan of the cucumber salad and tofu salad. It's incredibly cheap and a great place to stop off for a quick dinner on the way out. Conveniently located near Anglia Ruskin, Burleigh Street shops and quite close to Mill Road.
