    Instructions

    Place all ingredients except oil in a food processor, and process until slightly smooth. Slowly add oil to the mixture while the processor is on.
    Serve with bread, or toss with pasta, or in a sandwich.

    Ingredients

    3/4 cup pine nut, pistachio, walnut, or hemp seed
    1 large bunch fresh sweet or Italian basil, leaves
    4 cloves garlic, skin off
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup olive oil
    optional:
    1/4 cup nutritional yeast
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

    1 cup

      I made this dish using pine nuts plus all ingredients except for nutritional yeast or black pepper, and it tasted excellent. Made lots of pesto tempeh sandwiches for the family.
