A delightful, cozy eatery in Roma Norte that serves as a hidden gem for vegetarian and vegan food lovers. The restaurant is known for its enticing and affordable "Menú del día" (daily set menu), which typically includes a fresh salad, hearty soup, flavorful main course, dessert, and a drink. The atmosphere is casual and cafeteria-style, making it a favorite among locals for a wholesome, house-made meal. Open Mon-Sun 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Tasty food at a great price

I went here for lunch on a Wednesday near the end of July 2026. I found the food to be very good, especially since the price is currently 80 pesos for the meal of the day. Today's meal included a mixed salad, cream of carrot soup, and the main plate with three items: a vegan taco, diced and seasoned sauteed squash, and black beans. The meal also included a fruit based drink. The day I went there was no dessert so I'm not sure if they offer one or not. The girl that worked there told me that the full name of the restaurant is Comida Vegetariana Aurobindo. She said the restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch starting at 2:30 p.m. and lasting until 6:00 p.m. or until the food runs out. The neighborhood that they are located in (Roma Norte) is really wonderful and it's a great place to stay. This restaurant makes it an even better place to stay, especially for vegetarians!

Pros: Delicious food on the day that I went, Probably the lowest price in town for a meal, Fairly quick service

Affordable Home-style Mexican Meal

I saw this place on Google maps and the price looked amazing: 75 pesos for a 3-course meal of the day. There was no tax, but there is a small box for tips. I paid in cash, I don’t know if they accept credit cards. I spoke to the staff in Spanish, unsure if they speak English. The chef in particular was very kind and welcoming! Simple to find, north of the popular Parque México.

A Beatles album was playing, -‘d the place is very simple, clean, and cozy. The kitchen is in the same space as some long counters with chair, and there is a courtyard area in the back with a couple of tables.

When I arrived, I noticed the set meal of the day had cheese in it, so I told the staff I didn’t eat cheese and they said no problem and made a version without. They bring each course out one by one, and it was so nice to have a fresh salad and comforting soup in addition to the main dish (elotes in lightly spicy salsa verde, black beans, and a fried taco with a mashed potato filling and pico de gallo). I also received a hibiscus juice, and was offered a refill if I wanted it.

I have only been once, so I’m not sure how vegan all the dishes are on a regular basis. I definitely want to go again, amazing price for really nice homey food. I was full after!

Storefront doesn’t look like a restaurant except for the sandwich board outside the door listing the set meal of the day.

Pros: Filling portions, Great price, Mexican comfort food
