Ordering was a pain, food was blah - Edit
Firstly, the ordering system was a pain. It failed on me multiple times and forced me to help out my credit card to manually type in the numbers (for some reason my auto fill wouldn't even come up for it) and then kept fishing until I used another card, and reset my order to nothing in the process. We got nachos and burritos, and while filling, nothing I'll yearn for in the future. It's great to have a place near Pike Place, but definitely not proactively recommending it to anyone lest they think this is what it means to have a fully vegan restaurant.

Stopped by with friends and family while exploring the area and am happy we did. The owner was wonderful. The bar is extensive and the various happy hour drinks were awesome. Food is ordered via phone using a QR code on the table, which provides numerous add-on options and substitutes, allowing you to fully customize your order to your tastes. Depending on the meat substitute, some dishes are more flavorfully than others, but all still yummy. And they have a little fridge with free cups of salsas and sauces you can add to your dish.

We had some tacos, a burrito and the chips (nachos) with guacamole and salsa. The chips, salsa and guacamole were pretty good, but the rest wasn't was I expected. The corn tacos had a strange flavor and consistency and overall the flavors were pretty flat.

This is what I refer to as “sl*tty” vegan food. You will be so full when you leave here. Gooey cheese. Wonderful flavors. Everything is vegan so you can just order whatever you want.

We’’ve been here back in the pre-vegan days, and we’re so glad we came back and gave them a vegan chance. So yummy! Incredibly relaxing to just order, and not read everything. Extremely attentive service and our orders were faster than could possibly be expected. Now that it’s exclusively vegan, we’ll be back every visit to Seattle. Thank you!!!

Just had a fantastic time at El Borracho. Me and my wife order the nachos with the vegan beef to share and then we both had the seitan bowls with guacamole. It was all really tasty! The bowls are a mix of hot and cold ingredients, not what I expected, it I loved it! It’s worth noting too that the food came out super fast, which was good as we were both pretty hungry.

Drinks are good too, I had Mezcal over ice and it did not disappoint!

Burritos didn’t really taste of much whether the Seitan or the impossible ones. Nachos were good though their app wouldn’t let us order them for some reason so we had to go to the bar (no big deal just a bit of friction).

Great stop near Pike Place! I was pleasantly surprised with the shrimp taco. I've had a few other shrimp alternatives that just did not taste good at all but these were great! Also had the seitan barbacoa taco and the chipotle potato taco which were both very good. Overall had a great time here during happy hour. Service was friendly, location was good and the sun was shining on a beautiful spring day. The salsa fridge was also awesome! Great salsas

Excellent 'fast' food but of high quality. Very friendly staff. In middle of town. Larger inside than it seems, probably 40 seats, another maybe 12 or so swats outside. Nachos can be loaded w/ jackfruit, 'shrimp' etc. Really much better quality than usual. On the third day (!) of beautiful service and 'thanks for your continued support', we were not allowed to enter any more because our official German ID (the most official ID in Europe) all of a sudden was not allowed any more but we needed a passport (!) which was in the hotel locker. Abolutely weird and inexplicably rude.

Despite all the bad reviews I wanted to believe. The pros are that they have a lovely sweet friendly bartender, so eager to please and personable and the drinks are okay. And they are vegan!! The female staff who greeted us, I don’t know if she is the owner was not as helpful or friendly. Bad night? We ordered salsa at an extra cost and then when it didn’t come we asked her about it and she pointed to the salsa bar and said there it is and walked rapidly away….It is a different salsa that is fresh made that we ordered and paid extra for and we had to go to the bartender to ask about it and he was extremely apologetic and got it ASAP. The nachos seem to have nothing fresh on them, they were OK, I love getting things that you know are vegan at a vegan place but just not great.

Best vegan Mexican food around - Edit
My wife and I have been in Seattle for three days and have gone here twice already. The food is amazing. Large portions and very tasty. The hot sauce variety has something for everyone (mild to very spicy) and their cocktails are on point. We got the tamarind marg and hibiscus marg. *chefs kiss. We’re here for two whole weeks and I’m already thinking about how many more times we can come here before we leave Seattle.

Used to frequent the Tacoma location for their nachos and burritos so I was excited to try the Pike Place location for the first time on 12/11/21. Just as good! I love that they reopened as fully plant based!
