Hidden gem - right in the food court! (Update closed now- no longer there) - Edit
💯% vegan. I had the steak&cheese. Everything looks good. Next time I’ll try the chicken Philly or the Meatball Marinara or maybe I’ll get the Shrimp Alfredo (so many great vegan options). The pizza looks just as good as “&pizzas” vegan option which I love (can’t wait to try one of their make your own pizzas) Think I may just get one to go ...

Prison food-esque & NOT Vegan - Edit
1. Imagine prison food, "veganized", and you'll have a sense of this joint's unpleasantness. 2. It's located in the food court of a mall that looks like an indoor rendering of one of the rougher neighborhoods depicted on 'The Wire'. 3. They're not vegan.

On Happy Cow it says their food is all vegan, but when. We got there it looked questionable since there's no signs saying if and what is vegan. We asked the worker and she only pointed to a few different things. We did not end up eating here. They also had a sign that said "clean meats" and local produce.

I wanted desperately to like this place because I live nearby (within 2 miles). But it just isn't worth going to. I've mourned that fact and am ready to admit it publicly. And according to social media (see posts in Instagram and Facebook) they're going to stop being 100% vegan, so now I don't even have to feel guilty for not liking it.
Read moreThere are really two issues: There's much better fast food pizza in the area (&pizza and probably others), and a lot of the food is recognizable as store-bought fake meat. I ordered a sub, and it tasted like something I could make with Beyond Meat chicken and vegan cheese slices, but I never would make it, because it wasn't very good.
The issue is compounded by the fact that driving into the mall is a gigantic headache of traffic. Going via public transportation means you're not stocking up at Target, and it's not worth visiting on its own. I find it much easier to drive/park somewhere else in Wheaton OR to drive/park in downtown Silver Spring, and then you've got a million options for food.

Good Concept, Bad Execution - Edit
The food was really good the first time we went. Second time was disappointing. The staff isn’t knowledgeable about the food or veganism or ingredients or what soy is - really. When I say staff I mean the only person that works there - the same person there both times and service very slow. And the location is terrible - that mall is a [censored] hole. Great idea I think - but I would rather go somewhere with better atmosphere for the great food I experienced on my first visit - great food and slow prep time is acceptable. Bad food, slow prep time, bad atmosphere - not acceptable. I hope the rumors are true and they do relocate and that will perhaps elevate the areas where they are lacking.

We had the veggie pizza and a pepperoni calzone. My calzone wasn't heated enough so the cheese wasn't melted. I took it back for reheating and it still fell apart every time I took a bite! If the crust was a little thicker it would be perfect!

Apparently KPS isn’t doing well in its current location and is planning to move towards DC. So if you live nearby and have been wanting to try it, go now! I made my own pizza which was fair, but the pulled pork stromboli was amazing!

Very convenient location. Food was excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza fries. There’s not a ton of vegan junk food near me so this place was a treasure to find.

I love their new burgers! I’ve also had the spinach and mushroom stromboli (a little heavy with garlic chunks), and a few pizza flavors. Veggie is the best. ALSO can we talk about those brownies?! Always satisfied with my experiences here.

AMAZING CHEESE - Edit
This place is amazing! The bleu cheese tasted so real it was in believable. It even had the zing. Most vegan pizza places really slack on the cheese too (expensive?) but NOT HERE. They loaded the Stromboli with ooy gooy cheesy cheese. It was so delicious.

Yummy vegan food on the go - Edit
Stopped in to KPS for a quick vegan meal while in Wheaton. The Stromboli was delectable, full of veggies wrapped in a nice crispy crust. The staff was super friendly and excited to have recently gone vegan and we were thrilled to support their effort.

Hard to believe there is an all-vegan pizza/sub place at Wheaton Mall, but there is! The pizza is very good with a variety of pre-made slices and toppings. The stromboli is also very good with several choices of fillings. This is one of those times that I'm not so sure that anyone could tell that it is vegan. I had a chicken sub that was a little disappointing. It used, not surprisingly, a very refined bread/sub roll, with chunks of vegan chicken (not slices) and basic lettuce and tomato. You could add a variety of other toppings, however, which would help. I've been there twice and, unfortunately, while there have been lines at several of the other food court operations, KPS has had almost no customers. Hopefully, over time, that changes. If you live in the DC area, especially Montgomery County, this place is worthy fo your support. Imagine if they were successful enough to expand.
