First of all, the setting is stunning! The manager told us the marble and other trappings came from the elegant Biltmore Hotel that operated on Madison Avenue from 1913-1981.

Amazing! - Edit
You MUST visit this restaurant while in NYC. The service was excellent and we really liked the ambiance too. Felt like a classy restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. My husband, who is not vegan, was so impressed as well. We had the chicken skewers, beef skewers and lamb pockets. I can’t remember the name of our desserts but they were #2 and #3 on the dessert menu. So delicious! #3 is less sweet and more refreshing but still felt like a delicious treat. I would order again and again.

AMAZING! - Edit
I took my mother here for her birthday and it was a truly elevated experience. It was the most flavorful and well presented vegan meal I've ever had at a restaurant. My father, who's not vegan, took one bite into the "steak" and said "Are you sure this isn't real? If every restaurant was like this, no one would never feel like they were missing out." The staff was also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
Read moreThe only thing is, you'll need a reservation (at least for dinner). We didn't have one and sat at the bar. (It was still a great experience, but definitely plan ahead).

Our favorite in NYC! - Edit
After many years as fans of Beyond Sushi, we finally had the opportunity to try Anixi yesterday. This was a truly exceptional meal. If we lived closer, we would come often! That said, it is well worth the time (1.5 hours) to drive into the city and eat at Anixi. Every dish we tried had complex flavors and was delicious.
Read moreWe had the beet and citrus salad and the spinach borek as a first course. I would come back just for these two items! I've been missing that feta since I tried it on the beet salad at an old Beyond Sushi location. Each bite was fantastic, both then and now!
We shared the mushroom (braised "beef") pide and the grilled chik'n shish kabob as entrees. Wow. Just wow. We really appreciated the flavors, textures, and especially the green tahini sauce! It complemented the grilled vegan chick'n perfectly.
For dessert we tried the special raspberry baklava cheesecake, which was just lovely. The crunch of the filo dough with the sweet and tart elements! The raspberry cream was amazing! Also, I had the housemade soda in cucumber, mint, lemon. So refreshing!
Loved the Mizrahi music, too! Excellent place to celebrate our 30th anniversary!! We look forward to returning and trying some of the other affiliate restaurants, too. Our kids have already been to them and raved about the food! If you're in NYC, you can't go wrong with any of Guy Vaknin's restaurants. Anixi is our new favorite!!
Pros: Amazing food!, Excellent for a special occasion!

Mind blown 🤯 - Edit
The food here was unbelievable - honestly some of the best vegan food I've ever had. Everything was so flavorful and filling. The food also looked beautiful and appetizing. I came here for a birthday dinner with Omni friends. They were also quite impressed and said they were surprised everything was vegan. The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu items and allergens. I was worried that my soy allergy would be an issue. Though I wasn't able to have many of their mains, I had plenty to eat! I loved the mujadara, ekmek katafi and rose malabi. I'm not typically a "dessert person", but their two desserts were so impressive with the balance of flavors and textures that I have never experienced before, even before I became vegan (over a decade ago). The venue is stunning and the food was super memorable - it's been weeks and I'm still thinking about the food here. Their drinks were also delicious and robust.

Favorite restaurant in NYC - Edit
This is my go-to spot for mixed group of vegans and non-vegans. Non-vegans are consistently blown away by this flawless menu. Where to begin: chicken kabab, dumplings, kachapourri, the dips are a must and don’t you dare leave without having the malabi. There’s nothing I haven’t absolutely loved.

Birthday Dinner - Edit
This meal was fine. I came here with my family because my sister is vegan and we are used to upscale dining venues. Instead we were met with hostility from the wait staff, before our server forgot to put one of our four meals in to the kitchen so later one of us was awkwardly forced to tell everyone to enjoy their meal while they went hungry… this mishap could happen anywhere but I was disappointed it happened tonight on my sisters birthday at this price point. Honestly very underwhelmed from what I’d heard… hoping for better moving forward.

This restaurant is taking risks and some of the dishes hit it out of the park (5 stars) and others I hope they keep improving. Chef Vaknin never lets us down! Every experience in his restaurants is incredible, and this one was no different. The service, food quality and atmosphere are all top notch. Great vegan meal in NYC - Edit
We had a date night here for my husband’s birthday during our trip to New York. The restaurant was well decorated with a great atmosphere and warm and cosy lighting. Once seated we were quickly served, ordered, and drinks brought to our table. We were blown away by the kabocha squash dip and the the whipped ricotta appetiser with the layered herb bread (omg), we even ordered more bread - this time the za’atar pitta - just to clear our plates. Only downside, unfortunately the hummus was a miss - quite bland, not enough flavour and grossly overshadowed by the other mezze plates! For our main we chose the kofta kebob and the confit potatoes - both absolutely delicious, you must order if only for the tahini sauce with the kabob! We seriously enjoyed our meal and left feeling (very) full and content 🥰 Would highly recommend for a special meal in Chelsea/Midtown area ✨

Don’t get it - Edit
Another over hyped restaurant. Sure the room is beautiful, impressive even and the service is incredible but the food really lets it down. The hummus was weak and thin, not much flavour, the pumpkin dip was really sweet and the aubergine/eggplant too lemony and didn’t have the deep smoked richness it should have done. The pita was hot but very doughy. The kebabs were decent but not amazing. They’re trying too hard to be fancy but not delivering on the product. Would not go back.

Unbelievable! - Edit
This restaurant food was beyond delicious. Great location in Chelsea. Everything was fresh made and unique. Like art. Atmosphere and decor was moody and elegant. We absolutely loved our meal from start to finish. The roasted eggplant dip with the herbed pita bread was out of this world. Our main course with the “side up eggs” was delicious and interesting. We also had sides, which were very good as well. We particularly enjoyed the potatoes and the carrots. We more than highly recommend this place. The chefs are awesome. The servers explain exactly what was in the food and the ingredients and technique that was used.

3.5 Stars - Edit
Went for lunch on the weekend and didn’t wait for a table which was great. Ordered the chicken gyro rolls, chicken kabobs, khachapuri, confit potatoes, and ekmek Malabi for dessert. Three of us splitting everything and it was a perfect amount of food, we even had a little bit of everything left over to take home. Drinks came out first and the cokes were flat and something was off (both of us who got cokes agreed). Didn’t love the chicken gyro rolls but the chicken kabobs were outstanding. Crispy, flavorful, and a perfect texture. I also absolutely loved the khachapuri. Great flavor and texture. Confit potatoes were fine but heavy on the lemon. Ekmek dessert was delicious! Overall, we enjoyed but a few things that brought the rating down.

Excellent, with maybe too-big portions - Edit
What an excellent experience. The food was fantastic but either we over-ordered or the portions are too big because man did we leave full… and no room to try the beautiful-sounding desserts! I will definitely go back to try a wider range of menu items. Everything we got was really fantastic (but they overdo it on the “caviar” in my opinion). This is a place where more is more, so go big or go home!
