Plenty of vegan options if you play it safe

Staff here speaks good English. They have oat milk for coffees. I was told the kaya butter toast does not contain milk, but it does have butter, which could of course be margarine. It could also be a misunderstanding. You can play it safe and order other dishes that are definitely vegan friendly, like their rice or noodles. Specify no egg.

Food quality is good, service fast and friendly. They helped me get dairy-free food and coffee. Not sure if vegan is understood but you can explain what you don’t eat. If you want coffee as a tourist it’s best to talk to staff because they use local expression (coffee C, coffee O), not all can be made vegan.

YC Vege Life Cafe and Chan’s Cafe are not related. As someone who often eats vegetarian food in Ipoh, I used to think both cafés had the same owner too. But after hearing from Rawchefyin, I found out that YC is actually the original one, and it also offers more fully vegan menu options.
