Delicious deep flavours

We had cucumber (cutecumber) salad, spicy edamame beans boiled in broth, delicious peppery soup with the bounciest noodles and veggie dumplings. Vegan labels are clear, and the flavours and consistency were deep and good. The soup broth was some of the best we’ve had, and so nice that even simple things like edamame is prepared in a different and delicious way. Didn’t feel like the mandatory vegan option at all. Oh and we started with free pickles!
Only downside was that the dumplings weren’t quite hitting the spot - the doughy was a bit too chewy and the filling, albeit fresh and homemade, could have used a little extra something.

Magnificent noodles and broth!

I enjoy opportunities to have a bowl of ramen when possible so I was excited to try what roughly looked like a Chinese equivalent and it was great.

I had the veggie mian and it was excellent. A huge bowl of really flavoursome broth absolutely stuffed with tasty noodles. It was well topped with lots of tofu and mushrooms, along with some bits of sliced up pak choi, bean sprouts and coriander.

I also had the aubergine version from the specials menu. It was the same broth (I think) with some lovely pieces of aubergine across the top instead of the tofu and mushrooms. The aubergine was grilled and it was soft, slippery and delicious but a little tepid compared to the piping hot broth.

I've also had the veggie pockets, which were tofu and vegetable stuffed steamed dumplings. They were well made and filled but weren't very well seasoned. You definitely needed to dip them in the accompanying vinegar.

The menu is clearly marked with vegan items and allergens. There are a few other vegan options for sides and starters too. I've been twice and the place has been absolutely packed, so book ahead!

Fantastic Noodles

This spot only has a few vegan options on the menu, but it's worth going for the veggie mian! Vegan options are clearly marked in the menu, and there's allergen info as well. We shared the veggie pockets, which are steamed dumplings. The dumpling was nice, but the filling felt underseasoned.

The real star of the show was the veggie mian, which was a flavoursome broth filled (and I mean filled - this was a hearty portion) with noodles and topped with tofu and mushrooms. It was really delicious and had a nice kick to it.

It was absolutely packed when we visited on a Friday evening, clearly very popular. Highly recommended!

Authentic Chinese Food

I love the cold noodles, veggie xiaomian and lianggao. I've had it so many times. I haven't tried their veggies pockets, which look awesome too. The owner is very sweet! And I love you can see them making the noodles and dumplings (but you see everything in the kitchen, so you may see some meat being handled)

Pros: Cold Noodles, Veggie Xiaomian, Lianggao

Cons: Just that it isn't fully vegan
