Not as good as we remember - Edit
Food is excellent, hospitality was an F, and desserts didn’t hit like we wanted them to. I would go back there for dinner any day of the week when we’re in town, but the staff experience we had was such a turn off, I didn’t wanna go back even though it was on our schedule to have dinner again. Now that it’s a trap is there there’s no reason to have dessert here anymore.

Home food - Edit
The dishes were delicious.
Read moreI got stroganoff, which came with seitan, portobello mushrooms, rice, etc. I got a parsnip soup which was absolutely delicious.
I was looking for something good for my body and found it here.
The place gets packed, and is a bit noisy. You have to queue at first to get to the counter to choose your menu. There are three floors.
Pros: variety, healthy
Cons: not cheap, noisy

Perfect cake! - Edit
The cafe takes place over three levels and has an overall cozy chill vibe where you can stay for a looong while :). I tried the brownie which was great and the biscoff cheesecake which was unbelievably good, will definitely come back and recommend!! They seem to also serve savoury dishes, salads and snacks. Unfortunately they were out of scones but their cake selection was still satisfying. It's definitely on the higher end, paid over 6€ per cake slice...

A vegetarian staple in Dublin - Edit
Have been coming here for years every time I’m in Dublin. Great, hearty food and desserts. Lots of vegan options. Not the cheapest spot but still worth a trip. #Veganuary

Delicious food - Edit
Curry squash soup with spelt bread was delicious! The enchilada was also all right but the texture was underwhelming. Loved the wide selection of healthy foods. I liked the vibe and views out the window onto the street.

Hi, just to say that it is actually still not fully vegan here. The food is vegan but dairy milk and butter are still served, and you have to clarify when ordering if you want plant based milk

I misunderstood probably because the food menu said everything was vegan. Thank you for letting me know.

What a feast - Edit
We came here twice during our trip around ireland.
Read moreThey offer cake, small meals, breakfast and lunches. We had mainly the breakfast items.
I would highly recommend trying out the sausage rolls. We also had a scone and a rugelach as a sweet treat.
I can't recomment this place enough, as it is also a very nice spot to sit during the rainy afternoons in Dublin (we were at luck and it was sunny all day)..
Please note that they have serveral floors and the toilets are not suited for folks with wheelchairs.
Pros: Food, Ambience
Cons: Toilets (clean and all, but not accessible)

It turned fully vegan!

The only restaurant you need in Dublin - Edit
Me and my friend spent a week in Dublin and came back to this restaurant at least once every day. We tried other places during our stay but nothing that was even remotely as good. Everything in this restaurant and café was so tasty and the place was really cute. They even had vegan irish coffee ❤️ Dublin is expensive and this place is no different but they had a few cheaper options (at around 8 euros) that was still a filling meal on a budget.

Great - Edit
Nice space and the mix and match combo aspect for your meal is appealing, especially as there is so many good things to choose from. Dessert was also great. Can’t fault it apart maybe from being a couple of euros more than it probably should be.

Great fresh food - Edit
Update October 2024: be careful as the sign now says that their food is now fully vegan, but I was surprised to be asked if I wanted 'regular milk' with my hot chocolate.
Read moreI had added this to my list to try on happy cow based on the glowing reviews, but additionally got 3 real life recommendations which hardly ever happens so I knew I had to come here. I now come here fairly regularly! I really enjoy eating fresh tasty vegan food here in this meat free and mostly vegan (serves dairy milk and butter) restaurant. The main meal is a choice of a main course and either 2 salads or soup with a slice of bread. Mains I've tried include the potato cake, the lasagne, the stroganoff, and the shepherds pie. All very flavourful.
It's very popular especially at peak times but there's 3 floors of seating so you shouldn't be too stuck for a table, depending on the size of your group. One day I came here with a group on 5 on a Saturday at 4pm and we were not able to find a table and had to leave which was very disappointing.
The main downside is that you have to carry your own (heavy) tray of food and climb the narrow steep stairs as you search for a table, which is tricky, especially if others are coming downstairs against you.
The period detail of the building and decor is lovely, especially on the second floor. Staff is friendly.

Pros: All vegan food, Fresh tasty food , Great decor
Cons: Have to carry tray up stairs if downstairs full, Asked if want 'regular milk'

Finally found a vegan scone - Edit
I am pretty sure it’s the only place in Dublin where you can find a vegan scone, mine was very good, served with jam and vegan butter. Although I now realize it was served at room temperature and I think it should be toasted - had never eaten one in my life so I might be mistaken. There’s plenty of seating space even upstairs! Would definitely recommend

It’s normal to have a scone at room temperature, generally you’d have to ask for it to be toasted

An institution, that sneakily turned fully vegan without scaring away any customers. Delicious but healthy food, mostly actual vegetables rather than meat substitutes. Excellent dairy free desserts, and takeaway Christmas dinners that have saved countless family Christmases.

All the food is vegan so that’s good to know. They have cow milk and butter so that’s why it is not totally vegan. The restaurant is self -catering with more than enough space (also upstairs). Every day there new options on the menu. We went there 3 days in a row. The food is homemade and healthy
