Serves meat, vegan options available. No need to order from menu - just choose your price level and leave it to the chefs to create a multi-course vegan meal for you. Serves in private traditional Japanese room with a garden view. Waiter is able to explain menu items in English, but it is advised that vegans need to notify and reserve ahead.

Fantastic 5 course menu - Edit
Best japanes food that we got on the whole trip. We took the basic option and that consisted already of 5 courses. Vegan/vegetarian is possible without any problem.

Magome must try restaurant - Edit
Such a refined dinner experience.
Read moreHighly reccomanded if you are in Magome.
I wasn't expecting to find a restaurant that could cater vegan in this remote location and Haginoya came reccomanded by our accommodation receptionist.
Make sure you reserve a table ( I think you can reserve only by pho e call so may e ask your accomodation to book it for you ) and ask for a vegan menu, we got the second price and I think it was the perfect quantity but was delicious we didn't want it to finish.
The price doesn't Include drinks just an fyi, basic price about 2500 Yen, second price about 3800 Yen and highest price was about 5000 Yen.
Is a fix menu but seems to always include a nice big portion of tempura with rice.
It's not the easiest to find e specially at night so I have added some picture of the sign to help you out.
Enjoy it
Pros: Everything was delicious, Everything was vegan, Private japanese style room
Cons: Too thick layer of Miso on 2 items, Too much tempura too little dessert, Cheap chopsticks

AMAZING VEGAN KAISEKI - Edit
Eating at Haginoya was such a beautiful culinary experience! You definitely must go if you are in the area. Just make a reservation ahead, tell them you are vegan, and you are good to go!

AMAZING food in beautiful Magome - Edit
The chef prepared a vegan degustation for us ❤️ we had miso soup, tempura, pickled radish, pickled mountain vegetables, served with rice, green tea and local beer. It was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Such a nice atmosphere too and the chef is so lovely. One of Japan's hidden gem!

Amazing food and friendly staff - Edit
Didn't expect to find anything vegan in Magome at all - the staff is super friendly and the food was really good. We had the 1000 yen option and it was just enough. So if you're really hungry, the 2000 or 3000 yen option might be the better choice (not sure if it is more though or just different). Eating in a private room was wonderful.
Read morePlease note, that the map is wrong - the restaurant is across the big street and just below the big parking spot, close to the lower entrance of the village.
