Excellent Ethiopian and Eritrean food - Edit
A friend took me here to have my first try of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine. We had a lovely vegan meal with injeera and a few dishes made with lentils and vegetables.

One of the best restaurants I've been to! - Edit
What can I say that hasn't been said here already? Just like another reviewer said here; I also wish I could give this place 5 stars. There are so many vegan options to choose from! I didn't expect them to have so many marked vegan dishes on the menu!
Read moreBut also just like most people here I had the vegan platter, which included several different dishes from the vegan menu.
This was the first time I ever had Ethiopean food and IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING. SO GOOD!!
I wish I lived in the area, or this country even, so I could visit and eat this every. darn. week. I'm not overexaggerating when I say this is one of the best dishes and kitchens I've ever eaten at any restaurant ever, even before I went vegan. The staff is also super friendly and the overall atmosphere and the overalI atmosphere amazing.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Amazing - Edit
This is one of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow. Everything is freshly made and really delicious. I recommend getting the vegan platter to share so you can try a bit of everything, it's excellent value for money. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If you've not eaten food from Ethiopia/Eritrea before they will happily show you how they usually dish everything up. It's also a really lovely calm space to sit in a busy area of Glasgow. The only thing I would say is the food takes a while to arrive because everything is fresh so it's not one for if you're in a rush. If you've got the time though it's well worth the wait.

Super tasty food, interesting vibe - Edit
The food here is so delicious that nothing can stop me from recommending it. Would highly recommend getting a platter if it’s your first time as they can really introduce you to all the flavours. Service was a little strange, we were asked for our order several times within a few minutes of sitting down which seemed odd, and the layout of the restaurant is very spacious (almost too much so). In the end we got to know our server a bit better and they were very friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

Best Ethiopian - Edit
Having eaten at about 10 Ethiopian Restaurants, this one is my favorite, d-waitforit-licious. Many vegan options and cheap. It is upstairs. Don't think because it is just a black door the food isn't fantastic.

Best dinner I’ve had out in years - Edit
Incredible restaurant tucked away right in the heart of Glasgow . Found this place through HappyCow and was blown away by the food quality at ridiculously good value for money. My partner and I had a starter, vegan platter and a stew dish with a beer each for only £30 ! We were then brought out tea for two after we had given a tip. The staff were very welcoming and served us beautifully. A meal to remember. Highly recommend.

Please be careful :( - Edit
I try to never eat at non veggie restaurants if I can help it. Took a chance, and I regret it. We ordered the vegan sambusa to start but they gave us the lamb sambusas. We both realised as we swallowed the first bite. I feel utterly ill that a dead animal is inside me right now.
Read moreThe lady was very kind, apologetic and understanding, and didn't charge us for our starter.
I would've enjoyed the main (the vegan platter) but by that point my appetite had completely disappeared and I was just really upset. We ate as much as we could. It was tasty, but like another reviewer mentioned, the meals were not warm.
We were super polite and thankful as always but I left with a rock in my stomach and just feel really gross.

Delish! - Edit
Delightful and interesting tastes abound, and on the vegan dishes they really know their stuff.
Read moreA pro that's easy to miss: The food was not oversalted like in many modern eateries, but wonderfully spiced (they put labels on the spicy foods though, so if you have a sensitive tongue, you needn't worry)
Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Food well-spiced but too salty, Very friendly staff

5 STARS!! 💖😍🙏 - Edit
In my top 3 restaurants in Glasgow, I love, love this place. The staff are lovely and food comes quickly. The food is on par with the best Ethiopian I've had anywhere in the UK!
Read moreThe vegan options are very clearly marked and very plentiful (really most of the menu is vegan). Also so many dishes are gluten free so that's great. It's excellent value for money - generous portions.
We are so lucky to have this place in Glasgow and I hope it stays! Please go check them out!😄
Also it's a large, airy place so is safe for covid. Plus it's so central, incredibly handy!
I love the music they play too, funky east African stuff mostly
Pros: Lots of delicious vegan options, Mostly gluten free, Low price
Cons: Not 100% vegan...yet!

Delicious Food but was cold - Edit
The restaurant inside is quite pleasant, despite the exterior streetside appearance. We enjoyed delicious Ethiopian food and good service. However, all the food including the Injera was cold. On a chilly, rainy Glasgow evening, the cold food was very unappealing. It would have been so much better if only it was hot, or even warm. The server did not mention any problem in the kitchen or even offer an explanation why our food was not warm. Anyway, this certainly affected our experience at Masob.

I had the vegan platter which cost only £10, I hadn't ordered a starter but the platter was more than enough for me, I took the leftovers home. The staff were very friendly, we hadn't been before so they demonstrated how to best enjoy the food. I'd definitely recommend. 😁
