Read moreI was here Sunday during brunch time and learned that the Macs are not on the brunch menue, but they were the only thing I wanted. Kitchen was able to make it happen anyways and made me happy.
Service was fast and friendly.
I don't know why the restaurant and the Phonoclub have to different names, it's literally the same place and same service. Saw a lot of confused people stopping at the front door and wondering.

Ordered 3 things - they came out fast. My boyfriend wanted a beer, when no one came back to check on us, he got up and asked for a beer. He waited six minutes till someone walked by, asked for his beer again and they finally got him one (after admitting they forgot). It was not a packed night. We were seated in the listening area and saw a servet clean a table 3 times with nothing else to do.

Upscale vegan dining is hard to find, and Om Sabor is one of the few places around that provides. Delicious food that’s filling and unique. They have a broad range of options, and I’ve yet to get something that wasn’t tasty. There is a bar with great cocktails as well.

Superb dishes in a nice space - Edit
We really need more places like Om Sabor in SF. They have quality and interesting vegan dishes in a spot that’s great for dinner dates or intimate get togethers with friends. The menu is more vegetable forward than fake meat forward, which is perfect for my tastes. And the prices are right for what you’re getting.

Om Sabor has a nice vibe to it. They have outdoor seating and indoor. I sat next to the window by the bar and it had a nice open feel. The food was delicious. Go for happy hour and get the ceviche tostadas. Awesome vegetables.

Overall good experience and food here. There is a back and front area to this space. The back has lots of seating and DJ, though I found it too loud back there to be able to converse. The front of the space has less seating, but also includes the bar. Lighting can be dim throughout.
Read moreServings are tapas style and are a fusion of all kinds of fun foods. Can't remember exactly what I ordered by name, but got the beet salad, Korean bbq cauliflower wings, , and risotto with vegetables and I think some kind of vegan chicken.
Everything came out quickly and tasted fabulous. 1-2 plates per person seems about right depending how hungry you are. Did not try any of the drinks. Everything was reasonably priced, though more on the high side for the portion. Would definitely come back.

- The clam chowder was INSANE. I've been looking for a vegan clam chowder for a decade, and I am OBSESSED with what they've done here. So creamy & savory with all the right textures.
- The chik'n skewers blew me away. I think it's a mole sauce on them, and I was LICKING my fingers. So delicious and the chewiness was so satisfying.
- Tres Leches cake scratched an itch I didn't even know I had. It was freaking beautiful.
- Crab arancini was tasty, as was the pesto mac & cheese. Would probably order something else on the menu next time to see what other creative achievements in vegan cuisine are on the menu!

Pathetic thin slices of avocado - Edit
I went with my partner in the evening and ordered Al Pastor Tacos. There was nothing to note, I guess the spicy sauce on the side was somewhat nice but these tacos certainly didn't blow my mind.
Read moreBut what was the most disappointing and led me to write this review was the amount of avocado I got. I paid $3 for extra avocado and what I got was single, very thin slice for each taco. I was traveling and I do understand food is not cheap, but even if I lived in SF, I would never go there again. Happycow didn't let me rate this place 1 star but I would. Staff was nice at least.
Edited to add: the menu on their website says it's $1 for extra avo but I am certain I paid $3

Read moreGreat service was punctuated by some simple but very tasty. Vegan dishes. I was with a non-vegan and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We started with the cauliflower wings and moved into a Caesar salad with chicken and avocado, and finished with the chocolate ganache pastry.
I highly recommend this restaurant. One of its best attributes is that it is very different from other vegan spots in the Bay Area menuwise.

Om Sabor is a great vegan spot with a solid menu. We loved the vegan crab cakes — crispy, tasty, and paired with a great sauce. The chik’n paella skewers and the mac & cheese with soy chicken were also very good.
Read moreIt’s definitely on the higher end price-wise, but worth it for the flavor. Plus, they’re open late on weekdays, and the staff and vibe inside were awesome.
We finished with a vegan tres leches cake, which was light and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend!

Inside the hip Phono Bar, the Om Sabor menu offers Latin fusion plates! You can order a drink and food as the two establishments of Phonobar and Om Sabor make no distinction between who is there for which. The food is absolutely amazing and the drinks are inventive too

It’s a bar/lounge vibe, which I wasn’t expecting, but the food was amazing, the DJ was pretty chill, and the service was great. We loved the “Crab” Aranchini (8/10) and the carne asada nachos (10/10) were the best I’ve had in years. The hibiscus tacos were too spicy for me, but my lover enjoyed them. The paella skewers were delicious, but the rice was underwhelming and under seasoned. Would return to try the potato gratin!

Om Sabor was an incredible plant-based dining experience that left my heart feeling happy and taste buds extremely satisfied.
Read moreThey offer open seating in their bar area, back room, and even outside. Once seated, our waiter came over to give us all the menus including their weekday happy hour (17:00 - 19:00), mains, and drinks.
We started with their Carne Asada Tacos and Ceviche Tostadas from the happy hour menu. Both were phenomenal. The ceviche was fresh on top of crispy corn tortilla and the mock carne asada was flavorful that you really couldn't tell it apart from the meat version.
For our mains, we shared a few items for the table including the Carne Asada Nachos, Oyster Mushroom Calamari (HIT!), Crispy Mushroom Potato Gratin (heavenly), and their Teriyaki Chicken Skewers. Every single item we had was delicious, well executed, and surprisingly very filling which was good since the pricing is higher being in the city. I would go back for anything mushroom related especially that calamari - one of my favorite crispy mushroom dishes.
We had a fantastic experience and I am eager to return to try more of their dishes and drinks.
