Serves meat, vegan options available. South Indian catering turned brick and mortar in Feb 2015. The dosas are gluten free and can be made vegan by leaving out the ghee. Uttapam is made from the same batter as the dosa and can be vegan.

We had the basil dosa and the farmers market uttapam, both of which were excellent with innovative flavors and so fresh. Service was amazing!

Savory, delicious - Edit
Paper Dosa has amazing and yummy vegetarian and vegan options. I like the paneer and pea dosa! Be aware that the soup that comes with the dosas is spicy. 🔥

Top notch South Indian - Edit
Some of the best South Indian food I've ever had. The mushroom Uttapam and Spicy Basil Dosa were my favorites. Everything was packed with flavor. Many dishes can be veganized but not all - for example the vada appetizer couldn't be done without yogurt. Prices were very fair for the portions and quality. Unfortunately no vegan chai or lassi. It was a very popular place on a Saturday - our party of 4 had to wait about 30 minutes for a table.

Huge dosa - Edit
I ordered the vegan paper dosa and was shocked when it came out. It was the biggest dosa I've ever seen and it was delicious. This place can get very busy so make a reservation if you don't want to wait. We walked up about an hour after opening and had to wait around 25 minutes before getting a table.

Yummy Dosas in Santa Fe - Edit
This place was packed when we arrived 30 mins after they opened, which is a great sign. Tried their masala dosa and it was perfectly thin and crispy. The chutneys were flavorful, wished the potato filling was a little spicier. But overall satisfying! Also tried their pappadum with chutneys. It came with a sampler of 4 chutneys. The roasted garlic chutney was a standout for me. Would totally have again if in town.

I will be thinking about the truffle dosa for a long, long, time. Most menu items have the option to veganize it. Vegan appetizers and mains.

Favorite - Edit
We were in Santa Fe for a month and tried many vegan and vegan friendly restaurants. This one was my favorite. We did take away and dine in (patio seating). Both experiences were great! Would definitely recommend this to my family and friends! For dine in we did the tasting menu and wine pairing. Love it when you don’t have to think much about it and the food and wine just shows up. Plenty of food! We took the 3 course home for another nights dinner 😋

Fabulous find - Edit
What a lovely, unique dining experience! Delicious and superbly plated Indian food! The dosas are fabulous. The service is fast and friendly. We found plenty of vegan options among the largely flesh based items. Dosas can be ordered vegan-just ask for no ghee.

Fine dining atmosphere and good food - Edit
This is not your traditional Dosa joint but a fine dining restaurant offering South Indian food like dosas, uttapams and curries, many of which are or can be made vegan. We enjoyed it a lot.

Tasty Indian fusion - Edit
I liked this place. It is very cute inside, though super busy. I sat at the bar, though, without a wait. I sprung for the taster, which lets you pick three courses. I loved the asparagus soup and the spicy basil dosa, which came with an amazing cilantro sauce. I also had the vegetable curry, which was ok, but not amazing. It is quite pricey, though.

We enjoyed the truffle dosa quite a bit. Staff understood vegan and were flexible regarding a food allergy. Less protein than would be nice. Crowded and busy. Would visit again.

The place for South Indian fare! - Edit
My son and I shared a fabulous winter veg curry, a delicious masala uttapam and a hearty spinach and fennel dosa. We enjoyed our fill and had plenty to take home. The server could not have done more to ensure a more wonderful culinary experience. We will return again and again!

Vegan options and helpful staff - Edit
We called ahead because there were 3 vegans in our group and they said they had plenty vegan options. We ate the most delicious vegetable curry I have ever tried, and a masala dosa, which they made vegan by removing the ghee. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. Will definetly go back.

Great Veg Friendly Indian Restaurant. - Edit
First off, I am a local and we Santa Feans are "Foodies". There are many great restaurants in town to choose from and when this restaurant first opened I was there within 2 weeks! I love the menu because it gives a local vegetarian like me a lot to choose from which can be difficult to do in many restaurants. There hasn't been one item on the menu that I have tried that I did not like. The food is well-prepared, fresh, and delicious.
Read moreAt any rate, if you are in town to visit the "City Different", give this restaurant a try. The atmosphere is nice but can be a little crowded as there can be a waiting line to get in. However, it is well worth your time for the delicious veggie choices. If you decide not to try this restaurant, I would suggest a smaller and upscale Indian restaurant, Raaga, It also has excellent veggie choices.
Pros: Unique veggie offerings., Delicious food., Plenty of veggie choices.
Cons: Can be a wait to get in., Can be a little bustling inside.

Food not bad but too polished for my liking - Edit
I don't remember ever having been to a South Indian restaurant that wasn't completely vegetarian. This was a first, and probably a last.
Read moreFood was overall decent and tasted authentic but on the pricey side. All dosas and uttapams were $10 and up, which is more than what I usually pay. The menu is contemporary Indian and a bit limited. Food is served in ceramics instead of the standard metalware. The décor is much nicer than that of regular Indian restaurants.
Onto the food, the spinach-fennel dosa was a dud. I didn't like that it was served rolled up and pre-sliced into sections. It was all soggy when it reached our table. The filling tasted disturbingly of meat, but I picked through it and found no discernible trace of animal matter. Most likely cross-contamination. The chile-cilantro uttapam was quite good, but oddly thin and reminded me more of a scallion pancake. The idiyappam dessert stood out; cardamom and coconut milk is always a winning combination in my book.
I'd rate this place average. The dosa missed the mark; the uttapam was alright; the dessert was the best out of the three. Whether you like it or not, you'll probably end up having to come here during your stay in the area because there's really not a lot around for vegans. Just know that this is not your typical dosa joint and adjust your expectations accordingly.
Pros: overall good food
Cons: pricey, cross-contamination

Nice alternative to Indian offerings in Santa Fe - Edit
Paper Dosa has a nice small menu with many vegan options. I ordered the Mushroom Uttapam which I've never seen offered before and was delighted. A taste and texture profile that I've never had before at an Indian restaurant. The Mango and Avocado salad was also delicious and beautiful. I'll go back to explore their other offerings and ask them to include more vegan info on their online menu.
