A Huge Own Goal - Edit
Sports bars and veganism don’t usually go hand in hand, so I was pleasantly surprised to see not just options on the menu here, but a dedicated section of plant-based plates to choose from. Admittedly, not huge, but it’s more than most!

As I supped on my glorious ale (the real reason for my being here the first place), I finally concluded that the former would be marginally more satisfying, especially with a side of fries thrown in for good measure.
Truthfully, my expectations were set pretty low for this meal – I anticipated a rather mediocre presentation on the plate and an equally mundane flavour profile. Unbelievably, I couldn’t have been more wrong on both counts.
Firstly, the appearance. I have been in some quite high-end establishments that have failed to display their wares quite as impressively as this. Secondly, the flavours. Absolutely popping with zingy harissa, it was anything but bland or boring. Throw in too the silky puree, the nutty quinoa, and the crunch from the creamy cashews, and it was well on its way to becoming a memorable repast.
Unfortunately, this is where the underdog story comes to a sorry and anticlimactic end. One crucial element marred all that had come before: the ‘steak’ was still raw in the centre. Perhaps forgivable if the bar was overrun by punters and, therefore,, the kitchen was slammed, but I was literally the only patron in the place.
It is such a shame, as this was on course to be a quite brilliant experience. As it is, due to the blasé attitude towards the preparation of the main component of my dish, the astronomical price for a side of very average fries, and some questionable service, I doubt I’ll be making my presence known here again. (Except for a pint, obviously).

Vegan Options - Edit
This place is located inside the NH Collection hotel. They have great drinks and vegan options. My partner and I tried their jackfruit tacos, vegan burger, curly fries, and regular fries. Everything was so delicious and we were so grateful for the vegan options after arriving from a 17 hour flight to Dubai! The staff members are really friendly!
